GoldDragon Posted November 1, 2001 Posted November 1, 2001 *Kung Fu Quotes* Here is a list of actual English subtitles used in films made in Hong Kong--you know, those awful Saturday afternoon super-dubbed kung fu flicks where you know for certain that the translation has nothing to do with the actual Chinese dialogue. 1. I am So unsatisfied to be killed in this way. 2. Fatty, you with your thick face have hurt my instep. 3. Gun wounds again? 4. Same old rules: no eyes, no groin. 5. A normal person wouldn't steal pituitaries. 6. Dang, I'll burn you into a BBQ chicken! 7. Take my advice, or I'll spank you without pants. 8. Who gave you the nerve to get killed here? 9. Quiet or I'll blow your throat up. 10. You always use violence. I should've ordered glutinous rice chicken. 11. I'll fire aimlessly if you don't come out! 12. You daring lousy guy. 13. Beat him out of recognizable shape! 14. I have been scared like a mouse too much lately. 15. I got knife scars more than the number of your leg's hair! 16. Beware! Your bones are going to be disconnected. 17. The bullets inside are very hot. Why do I feel so cold? 18. How can you use my intestines as a gift? 19. This will be of fine service for you, you bag of the scum. I am sure you will not mind that I remove your manhoods and leave them out on the dessert flour for your aunts to eat. ChangWuJi Posted November 4, 2001 Posted November 4, 2001 They are awesome movies and these guys have incredible skill and fighting ability (well most not all). If someone looks good on a movie it means they have good form. They aren't faking, they have really refined technique in alot of cases. Those guys trained more than 8 hours a day. I recently started to lget into Lo Meng in films (the Frog Venom) and read some stuff on him "Lo Meng (he played the Toad in Five Deadly Venoms) is a lifelong dedicated student of the mantis fist. Lo Meng has an incredible physique and is a true powerhouse. He began studying at the age of 13, and continues to practice the style today. The Mantis style focuses on the strength of the arms, gathering strength from the shoulder sockets straight down to the hands, using the whole body to help the power of the arms- and it is this technique that you almost always see Lo Meng using in his fight sequences. Rarely does he use weapons- he doesn't need them!" "There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you. A man must constantly exceed his level."
GoldDragon Posted November 4, 2001 Author Posted November 4, 2001 heheh Those old MA films were like "The Matrix" back then. They were jumping over houses and jumping up trees, or jumping off cliffs fighting. In my home (in the mall) we have a store where they carry ALL of the old MA Flicks. I was like, "WOW...this sounds good", but I never buy it......lol Kung Fu Black Belt 1st DanGoldDragon Academy-------------------------Represenitive for Paltalk.com *-*-*-*-Mouser (Palhelp)*-*-*-*-*-
Karateka Posted November 4, 2001 Posted November 4, 2001 I love to laugh at those old MA movies. We should get a club or something going on here about old MA movies. "Never hit a man while he's down; kick him, its easier"Sensei Ron Bagley (My Sensei)
