how does this work? inhowfar do they provide stronger hands? do you punch harder when using them? and inhowfar can you train with a tennis ball?

Improving the grip also usually helps strenghten the muscles of the forearm. Improving the wrist and forearm strenght would also improve the strenght of the punch.

and in howfar can a tennis ball be a substitute? do you just take the ball in your hands an press together, let loose, press again, let it... etc??

I think that those "grippers" are pretty cheap. You can squeeze and do reps or hold it. The same with the tennis balls. You can also use a bo staff and hold the end of it and swing it or wind a stick with a weight tied to it or......

 

You can do a lot of things that will give you a better grip. A better grip will help your grappling, seizing and control techniques.
