LeopardGold Posted November 24, 2003 Posted November 24, 2003 Last month I was sparring against this 15 year old who had no control at all and he tried to sweep me but instead it was more like a kick to the knee. All in all I have a torn ligment and a fracture bone. Now I can't even practice till another month.
Rich67 Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 I got thrown about 4 months ago and I can't remember what happened exactly, but my foot was planted on the ground while the rest of me wen the other way.. I heard this loud CRACK from my knee then I was in hella-serious pain.. I hobbled off to the side for a couple of minutes then ended up back sparring on one foot... dunno what went crack but the physio said I'd be ok.. .. other than that just 2 sprained thumbs.Physio said you'd be OK....hmmmm..the way you described your injury, the sound and pain, sounds like you either tore your ACL in the knee or tore the meniscus in your knee. If your knee feels ocassionally weak, or gives out, or it swelled up a lot after it happened, then you better get a second opinion. I say this because the exact thing happened to me, and that's what I was diagnosed with. If you tear the ACL, your knee no longer has any front/back stability, and it'll give out on you whenever you do strenuous excercise. Also, it leads to arthritis as you get older. Vrik Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 My right knee is cursed. I've hyper-extended it three times, as well as having a knee cap that refuses to stay in place.
