  1. at my school we are trained with both sides. My opinion is that why have a weak side train both sides so that you can become proficient with techniques from both sides and have just as much power from both sides.
  2. I think that there are many reasons that you should continue martial arts training. I think that they are all very personal and if you can't find a reason or a drive inside you anymore you need to think hard about why you first became involved in martial arts. I personally want to become an instructor, I see so many of the kids in the classes that I help with have issues in their everyday lives and see what pride and empowerment that the classes give them. I want to give that to people and see that I can make a difference for people who on their own may not be able to. I have also improved my life so much since starting martial arts I just want to learn more and more to become everything I can become spirtually, mentally, and physically. So what I can say is that please before you make any rash decisions please sit and really think about that fire, that drive that started you in the first place. Good luck
  3. Very sorry to hear it, hope everything works out you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
  4. I turned 30 December of 06. I am fine with it and didn't really dread it at all. I figure your only as old as you feel.
  5. I have been watching wcl for a while there are some really amazing martial artists that compete.
  6. we are not taught that at my school. We are always taught to have our hands up. I think that it has a lot to do with the instructor and how they were taught
  7. there is also the option that if he is hurting you, you could ask him to not punch/kick so hard. As a higher belt level, he should have more power/control on his techniques and may not realize he is throwing them too hard for the situation ao asking him respectfully to not throw as hard would be what I would do.
  8. my daughter is 7 years old and she has been in ma now for about 6 months. She is doing very well and I am helping in her class at times so it makes it that much easier to keep her excited. I really think that taking a active roll in it if possible is a very strong way to insure that they remain interested.
  9. yes of course its me, and I really do enjoy training with you I learn a lot from you and the others in class thank you. The forums are great I have read a lot of interesting things here. Talk soon
