  1. A variation of a cat stance, only with a bit more weight on my forward leg. Say, 80% back 20% forward.
  2. Aki-Jujitsu. If I can get to a level where I can teach it (brown or black) then I really don't need any other art to base a "new" one off of.
  3. Not unless I thought he/she was going to seriously hurt me.
  4. I damaged my left leg doing something as simple as training with side kicks when I was 12, it's never been the same. It might have helped if the instructor had been giving me better pointers on what I was doing than: "More spirit!"
  5. Sure, but I'd keep it at a very light level and try not to hurt the guy. I've had friends mess around when drunk and try to get me to "show them what I can do", but after a few times they just give up. A wrist lock works wonders.
  6. Do you just not get it?
  7. I <3 Italian food. Oh, and Dark Blue would have to be my favorite there.
  8. Even worse than the fact he was in "IT" was the fact he was in "Rocky Horror Picture Show". I mean, how creepy can one guy possibly get?
  9. Tim Curry is the scariest man ever.
  10. Whichever one happens to be my right leg at the time. I favour it way too much for my own good.
  11. Those movies always made me giggle. Um, the Evil Dead series is some good fun. I can never get enough of Ash.
  12. The Ring was very, very creepy. There aren't a lot of "scary" movies out there anymore, but some classics slasher/scary flicks include: Texas Chainsaw Massacre (beautiful movie) Exorcist The Nightmare on Elm Street The Omen Friday the 13th The House (Good for a laugh)
  13. I'm waiting for the Blue Jays to pull themselves out of this slump and kick some American ass again.
  14. I've known about this for a little while and am not really looking forward to it. Most anime to live action transfers go off quite poorly.
  15. Depending on the place, it might cost extra to get it there, but should be fine in terms of not stretching out. I love showing off my ink.
  16. I think it's interesting you picked 10 years for someone still being a beginner, usually by this point most martial artists will have a black belt which is seen by most as a sign of mastery. I'm guessing by your statement that you've been around in martial arts for some time now. I'll probably always consider myself a beginner.
  17. If nothing else, tournaments are a great place to observe other martial artists in action and see what the art is doing for them. I'm not a huge fan of tournaments, but I do enjoy seeing how others fight using the same tools as me. Although, I wouldn't discount the value of a tournament just because of the limited number of moves, it's still a good experience. TKD tournaments gave me some of my worst injuries.
  18. I think some of the best teachers can be found passing their art down in a YMCA, community centre or high school/university gym. As it's already been said, you should go and check things out before even considering joining. Make sure it's something you'd be comfortable taking, see if the students work at it, make sure noone is getting hurt intentionally.
  19. Me too, but I'm still glad that a team other than the Yankees or the Braves did something this year.
  20. I'm almost always working on some technique or problem in my mind and will often find myself just sitting and practicing something when I'm watching a movie or talking to someone. Short answer: Constantly.
  21. The Wing Chun school I'm in uses belts in order to signify a division in skill, but mainly it's for the people that like to have that extra bit of colour on their waist. White Yellow Orange Green Blue Brown Black
  22. I completely agree, it may be true that most Shotokan schools I see are more and more like McDojo's all the time, but finding a proper school gives you some great techniques. I don't think it should be used on it's own, though, the one hit mentality can lead to some problems.
  23. It's as much of a human concept as morality/ethics or art. Just because something is only percieved or considered by humans doesn't make it an automatic write-off.
  24. To me it represents duality and balance.
  25. I'm sure when I'm 80 and senile I'm not going to care what my tattoos look like. Red J- Just remember, the art work on the wall (Flash art) is used by a lot of people. It's possible to talk to the artist about an idea you have and get him/her to do something unique for you. Oh, and ask a lot of questions, the more the better. Good luck!
