Hey everyone I wanted to know what you all thought of my workout routine. I am trying to loose weight but I am mixing Muay Thai, weights, cardio and calisthenics. My routine looks like this. Mondy/Wednesday/Friday: (Morning) 1. 20 Min. Stretching 2. 30 Min. Cardio (jogging) (Evening) 1. Weights Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday (Morning) 1. 20 Min. Stretching 2. 30 Min. Jump Rope 3. Muay Thai training (Evening) 1. Calisthenics -Push-ups -Various abdominal exercises -Hindu Squats So what do you guys think? I weigh 240 right now and my goal is to loose about 60 pounds. I'm also thinking of starting Muay Thai everyday, instead of every other day. Please let me know what you all think. Any advise and tips are always welcome. Kirby

My training update

Thai Kick, how often should I stick with that routine. Everyday or every other day, what do you suggest? By the way thanks for the tips! -
Hey everyone, I wanted to give you an update on my progress. First I quit my kickboxing, and i got into Muay Thai. This happened because i didn't feel like my kickboxing trainer was any good, and also because I have a cousin who wanted to take Muay Thai, so we decided to do it together. Anyways, since last time I have gained power and strength in my punches and kicks, I'm still working on my knees and elbows. I have lost a couple of pounds and my endurance is way better. I only have one problem, which I hope some of you could help me out in. I'm right handed so I do my jabs and my covering with my left, but after a while it just gives out on me and I can't cover that well anymore, or even throw a descent jab. My right arm can go on forever, but my left always dies on me. Is there any way I can improve endurance or strength on my left arm? Thanks for the advice

Hey everyone, I just got back from my first training day, and i got to say it was the best workout I've had in a long time. I really have to give all of you that have been doing this for a long time a lot of credit...this is tuff. Anyways, my question is this, about thirty minutes into my workout I just started to breath really hard and i got tired quick. I'm a prety chubby guy so I'm not in the best shape. Can anybody give me a few pointers on exercises that i can do at home to build my stamina and endurance, which is what i need to improve on the most. Even though it was tuff for me i'm not quiting, and i'm sticking with it ....so can you guys help me out!!! Thanks for the advice.

How often should I train?
kirby05 replied to kirby05's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
I definitely agree with you there Leaf! I also believe that if some days you don't feel like training, and you still get your butt in that gym, then you're dedicated to whatever it is that you're doing. When I don't train I actually feel guilty, like if it's something that I have to do no matter what. -

Thanks a lot for the advice, I was thinking of training everyday but I thought it was overdoing it, guess not. Would jump rope be a good way to warm up, I usually stretch and walk on the treadmill for about 15 minutes before I train, but it's getting boring, the treadmill I mean. -
Hey everyone, I am new here, and I'm also gonna start kickboxing training next week. My question is, I'm a chuncky guy annd I need to loose a lot of weight, but I also don't want to waste any more time, and i wanna train already. thing is does anybody suggest that i loose the weight first and then start Training, or will everything just fall into place, and the weight will just come of WITH the training? Thanx for any advice!
