  1. The most useful information I could find on plyometrics is as follows. A student once asked Bruce Lee how to increase his kicking speed. Bruce Lee replied "...kick faster..." The other information I found on plyometrics was based on running speed, jumping height, etc. etc. Nothing was found on kicking. So to my understanding, plyometrics is the idea of stressing your ligaments with sudden, increasingly fast movements. Correct?
  2. Hmm...plyometrics...I know that word, but I forget what it means. Could someone now explain "plyometrics"? No need to go into depth, just a reminder of what kind of movement is required.
  3. When you began your training with high kicks, do you remember a *popping* feeling near your hip and / or pain? This is the linea aspara muscle, a large muscle that lifts the femur. I speculate that training of this muscle will greatly help the speed of my kicks. Am I right? What are some ways of training the speed of my kicks? I'd like to not telegraph my kicks as much as possible. Thanks.
  4. Thanks, Sohan. I'll try to stretch at 3 different points in the day if that will make a bigger dent.
  5. Half a week ago, I started doing stretches before going to bed, and when waking up the next day. I hold each stretch for a minute. I'm doing this so that I can gain more leg flexability, and begin practicing high kicks ( because flexiblity is obviously important for that ). I'm currently doing toe touches, splits ( as far as I can which isn't that far ), and a few more stretches that focus on stretching my groin muscles. Will holding these stretches for a minute be enough to dramatically increase flexibility? Do I need more stretches in order to increase flexibility? Finally, do I need to stretch more times per day, or am I overdoing it? Any input will be appreciated. Thank you.
