I liked a lot 101 Dalmatians (I love Glenn Close), Schindler's list, 7 years in Tibet, American Beauty, Empire of the Sun (hope this is the right title ) and all those movies that made me THINK. I like those with philosophical aspects.

Guess will be friend I have many albums that made my life more beautiful and many artists who spoke to my heart: Pink Floyd - A momentary lapse of reason, Shine on you crazy diamond (oh God ... great songs ...) Led Zeppelin (guess al the albums are ok ), Deep Purple (especially ... in Rock), Yes (all their albums), Mike Oldfield, Jarre, Rick Derringer, Satriani, Vai, Malmsteen (he's a God ), BB King, John Lee Hooker (was almost sick when he died ) .... many many artists. It would take an hour to write about them

I've got a 3 year old dog. It was a stray dog and I took it home when he was about 2 months old. He is the joy of the entire family and my companion in hard or happy times. I named him Junior. I could speak about him for ages, but I'll stop here. HE CHANGED MY LIFE. I'm happy

He doesn't have to be a hero in this aspect. He must be a good person, intelligent and cultivated, he must have good taste, a good sense of humour (in order to stand my jokes ) and he has got to have the wisdom to love a woman of career and in the same time involved in MA. Guess that scares them

A few days ago I got Nakayama's Dynamic Karate from a friend. What a day !!! Here in Romania it's kind of difficult to get this stuff, so imagine my joy.

Well. LeaF 16 is the best age to fight I remember when I was 16 I used to "kill" everyone near me if I felt they bothered me. Hopefully they came to know this and I grew up and no I don't feel like fighting anymore ... though now I do MA training Good luck in your "battles"

"I'd much rather swallow my pride than a knife. " Excelent word of wisdom KarateTips Now I know why you put that thread about fighting drunken men in your forum. Interesting and good looking Must pass by again to read the new stuff Speaking for myself ... I don't wanna fight and I'll chose to talk my way or even run. I've already done the "running" thing as I posted somewhere in this forum and I feel better than if I would have kicked the h..l out of that drunken man Those who find out I do MA always reply with: "Ohhh. I'd better be careful." Stupid ones. They feel I would fight them. Hmmm No way ... If it really gets serious and I can't avoid it, only them I'll show them who's the boss

Like the others said ... GO TRAIN. Don't worry for being a little chubby, no one gives a d..n in the dojo We had last year a girl in our dojo who started shotokan and was big. We came to love her and admire her because she was training as hard as she could. Well she didn't have much ballance, pushups were out of question for her and so on, but she was doing her best and sensei never said anything "bad' to her, even if she wasn't "the elite". He always smiled at her, encouraged her and helped her become better. Unfortunatelly she didn't came this year and it's her LOSS. Hope she'll come back... And for all the guys who don't apply to the 90-60-90 standard ... who cares? Be as good as you can, do MA because it's great and you'll find friends and your self esteem will grow. kirby05: PLS tell us how you find your MA training. I wish you the best ...
-
Well as others said before me ... take MA training and just when you'll feel prepared to kick his b..t you'll no longer feel the need to do so I for myself would recomend Shotokan. You won't learn to fight as quick as you wished and after a while you would have known you are not supposed to start a fight. He he you might read Dojo Kun or Ninju Kun. Maybe you'll change your mind. I wish you all the best and hope there will come the day when you won't answer to provocations and even feel good. That day will come and only then you'll be a real "martial artist".

Guess it's hard BUT ... you are still young and everything will be alright. If you are for a year not so capable of great efforts in karate ... so what? Try to avoid too much effort. You could be there, doing some light stuff and paing more attention to the technical side Try to improve there, do the moves a little slower and with less effort so your back won't suffer that much. I wouldn't say to quit karate for an entire year because I for myself wouldn't do so I have some problems myself and I still train because I couldn't live without it. I have some problems with my right shoulder (fell on my head on that shoulder last year after a car hit my bike. Well .. I was on the bike ... not for long because a moment later I was 3 meters to the left ) Since then my shoulder hurts some times. When that happens I just relax ... and do light movements instead of full power ones. Sensei knows about is, so when I slow down it's OK for him Your instructor MUST know about this, so he won't think you're lazy Hope you'll recover soon ... Take care and hope you'll have the most beautiful and the healtiest back

Good to know all of this. 10x from me too. KickChick I thought it's not that good to sweat so much ... As for wearing many clothes ... no thank you Those times I feel nakedness is a great idea. Hopefully I still keep on a T-shirt

Somebody once said ... if you want to punch better ... punch. For many many times. I guess the training for strenghtening your muscles wouldn't do you any harm, as we all know you punch with more force if the muscles are better trained. You should pay attention to the proper training especially because you are still growing. Anyway I guess you look already great and imagine how you'll be when you'll reach 23 or 24

We had such a bunny and she tried her "charms" with sensei. Unfortunatelly he is "ocuppied" so he didn't bother to respond. The poor thing thought he might fall because he used to smile at her and chat outside the dojo. Well that's what he usually does ... with everybody. He likes to talk and smiles to his students so they feel OK. As for our bunny ... she didn't grade. He he he She stinks anyway

After a year and a half ... no problems ... there won't be that many broken hearts If you'd have stayed there for 9 years ... it would be a different story Anyway ... good luck in the new style

Racism is a sign of narrow mindness and I hate it. I have friends that are other race, other colour, other religion and some are even gay. So what? They are great friends as long as they are smart, funny and open-hearted. And they are... The rest doesn't matter. And in our dojo there's no room for such things. Thank God for my sensei

Student kicks teacher suffers

Well I didn't sign anything nor did my coleagues. We train in Shotokan and thus we should respect Dojo Kun and Ninju Kun. Sensei "sings" all day about not using our "achievements" against other if not provoked, so I guess it's simple. And the responsability should be OURS. -
Well I can't because I'm not a man, but I feel sorry for you. I saw one of my mates feeling not so good after receiving a little push in the ...

He he he ... My stomach hurts from laughing not to mention my mouth ... Well to defend the little one. A black belt should know how to defend himself or at least to wear his cup. Was he that blind that he couldn't see the kids are as high as to reach for his ... Now he'll be prepared
-
In our dojo we are also friends and hang up together. It's great and thus you never feel alone Sometimes it's hard to make time for everybody, but ... give it a try ...
-
In our dojo the examination fee is from 3$ to 30, depending on the belt. The belt itself is to be bought from elsewhere and it costs about 7 $. Before you say it's great I must tell you the medium wage is 100 $ and the inflation rate sky high So it's not that easy, but in comparison with other countries it's a bargain
-
Your are right KickChick Hope I'll feel the same when I'll have 3 kids (right now I have none ) The fact is I feel confident and I guess I'm more stuborn than before. ...And the efforts I must make in order to achieve something are no longer that big. Did I mention I look great? Well ... kidding. Anyway I like myself more
-
Thank you moonbrack for the answers and of course for making me feel soooooo good by telling me my English doesn't stink that much It's hard when you have to take care of all things in dojo and thus your training has to suffer.
-
Yeah ... the "I can't do it" feeling ... Frustrating Fortunatelly we come to do those things so the "line" is drawn a little farther. And then we do other things and so on. Evolution ... so easy to see in karate
-
I bet you're more agile than the others ... I've noticed it gives me confidence in all aspects. I like the way I look (I'm slender, but still athletic) my ab looks great (my coleagues couldn't believe their eyes when they saw the "squares") my legs are strong and I boost confidence. Helps with the boys too
