I saw him fight, I believe it was an older person....a Frechman I believe, but I could be wrong. Reyes dominated him the entire fight. It wasn't even close at all. Reyes is a class act and a great athlete -
I'm planning on taking a fishing trip to Montana in the somewhat near future. I'm gonna be sure to look you up Thank you for all the kind words and encouragement. *rei*

I sincerely appreciate your encouragement and kind words. That means a lot to me. The weird thing about my situation is that I have to work during literally ALL of the class times that I could take class. Stack that upon a tight financial scene and there you have my situation. I would not have a problem speaking with my sensei about working for him in exchange for classes, but I'm working during the scheduled class times. It is a rather *large* school (putting it mildly). Several people are actually making a living teaching there. The dues a month are...a bit steep, but money has never been an issue concerning my training until now. One can't put a price on what you learn in the dojo. I'm probably just going to have to sit out of classes for a while and train on my own. I stil feel pretty bummed though. Again, thank you very much for the encouraging words. It's nice to know that there are others who can identify with me on this. Yours in Wa No Michi, *rei*

Recently, I've had to stop attending my school due to work scheduling and financial difficulties. It is literally impossible for me to continue training at my dojo under my current circumstances. I see no let up in my circumstances until possibly the late spring or early summer. I never have been particularly close to my sensei, but have been a respectful, loyal and dedicated student of his and his staff for the past 5 years. I feel as if I've let him down, the school down, our federation down, my friends in the dojo down, as well as the style down. I feel terrible and incredibly sad and disappointed about the situation. It's awful. Would any of you have any encouraging words or advice for a fellow karateka? Yours in Wa No Michi, *rei*

Ironically, I forgot to mention, Cash recorded somewhere around 30 more songs since June's passing. It won't be long until that album is released. It should be an interesting album.

The video of Cash's rendition of "Hurt" kind of disturbes me. I'm not really sure what Johnny was trying to get at, but I respect him for doing it. Maybe I need to watch it a few more times.

Nashville, as well as the rest of the world, has lost one of it's great treasures. One of my few memories of my grandfather was when we would sit in his workshop while he fixed old radios....and there was ALWAYS a Johnny Cash record playing. :) Cash's music is timeless. I'm going to miss him.

BOB SAPP VS. MIKE TYSON!
Wado Guy replied to wrestlingkaratechamp's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
I like Sapp. Hes hilarious, but he couldn't actually hang skill wise with Mike Tyson, even if Tyson IS past his prime. Kimo almost took out Sapp under K-1 rules last week. (but don't get me started on how Pride officials gave Sapp a long count). As much as I like Sapp, no one has ever hit him as hard as Tyson could on a bad day. -
There is a young lad in class at my school , 17 years old, 6'7". He's still growing too.Tall drink of water. You think a high kick would work on him? Nope I try to wear his legs out as best as i can It's a good thing he doesn't have a temper or else we'd all be dead High kicks are good *to be ABLE* to do. But in a defense type situation...nahh...stick to lower ones.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the HOTTEST new martial art : Dach Shund Do. I've named myself Surpeme Ultimate Awesomest Grandmaster 12th Degree Blackbelt. This awesome style is patterned after the fighting style of the miniature dachshund. It mixes the fluidity and grace of this hunting badger hound along with it's ruthless style of attack on the various doggie chew toys around your house. The stances are very low, for easier attacking of the ankles. Very few punches, but alot of headbutting, scratching, licking, and pushing. When attacked, a practioner of Dach Shund Do will often roll over onto his or her back and give the cutest big eyed look to the attacker, often hypnotizing them with their cuteness. Then, when they least expect it, the dach shund do-ka will use the most feared and most effective manuver in the system...the dreaded "sneeze". That's right, a sneeze. Like dachshunds in the wild, the dach shund do-ka will sneeze at their opponent when threatened or aggravated causing their adversary to either die of laughter or get a cold. All willing to become a disciple of Dach Shund Do and help spread this phenomenal new art can apply for Sensei status in this thread. No experience necessary, just an open mind and a love for the art. Do YOU have what it takes to be a Sensei in Dach Shund Do?? Yours in the way of Dach Shund Do, Surpeme Ultimate Awesomest Grandmaster 12th Degree Blackbelt Wado Guy *rei*

Compound bows are pretty intense. I've never heard the "THWACK" as an arrow hits inside the gold :( I'll stick to my 9mm

The heavy bag moves. You punch it, it moves. You kick it, it moves. You knee it, it moves. etc etc etc. It moves. That's why I like it
-
My personal favorite is when sensei asks us to do Kusanku backwards. Talk about a brain fry. Whew! I get about 4 moves into it then I fry!

whoa...the male ego in the air is thick today *sniffs* Um...again, I feel that this is like comparing apples to oranges. Alot depends on the instructors you have and the atmosphere of the school you attend. It's really hard to weigh the two styles. It would be easy for me to be biased on this one, but I've never really seen or heard of a wado ryu kata just tearing up the tournament circuits. To answer the original question : CHeck out both schools, find out what their focuses are, check out the atmosphere, talk to some of the students if you can...and I hate to bring this up, but check into what the costs are for each school and how they want you to pay....be viscious in this aspect of your research, not all schools are on the level. Btw, what part of the country are you in ?
