  1. i have a few questiions id like to get out in this post. the first is what is the best exersise/s that i can do to increase the power in my punches all ive been doing is lots and lots of pushups, that works my arms great but it takes to long for me to see the diference in my punching power is there anythin els i can do? the second thing is i like to do heavy bench pressing ( for reference im still in my teens ) but i have been told by a few people to lay off it and only do repitition wilst im still growing why is that i find heavy weight increse my upper boddy strength so rapidly i am reluctant to stop. and also i am curious as to what the average weight a person between the age of 15 - 18 should be able to push and how many pushups they should be able to do, i only ask this because very few of my friends do any trainning and its hard to tell if i am to standard thanks
  2. thanks for that. yes i know that the strike is ment for soft areas and the tiles we break arnt very strong there not the big treated concrete wire laced ones there just small and quite old. it would probably be the equivilant to maybee 1 and a half or 2 boards but because the promotion test is also doubling as a seminar we thought that it might look a bit more impressive. thanks for the advice
  3. i have read up on some of the WTF competitions and i have found a common rule that states if you knock your oponent out you are disqualified from the match. i dont agree with this rule but i dont care to bag it ... i was just wondering are all the competitions like this or are there some full contact competitions that arent as toned down?
  4. i was just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to improve knife hand peirce as i have to perform this technique through 3 tiles at my next Gradingpromotion test etc. i have done it befor but badly damaged my fingers so i have been doing it into bags of rice to improve the strenght in my fingers but if anyone has a better way or more diverse way id love to hear it
  5. after talking about Rhee tae kwon do again it go me intrested and i went and talked to my instructor about him and i found out he used to train under him. he told me that when he was younger and was a black belt in Rhee taekwondo, mr. Rhee was getting alot of chalenges by other martial arts schools and instructors. most of them thought that he new nothing and was just another martial artist trying to start his own academy, but when a few poeple were beaten by him after challenging him, a the more seniour belts went to have a try and they were all badly beaten aswell and he erned a big reputation as a very dangerous person. i could see why being a part of an elite group like that. im pritty sure that he also used to train in a form of karate for a while.
  6. his name is spelt Chong chul Rhee he is the Australian father of tae kwon do. i also know that hes the president of the TKD instructors federation. for Australia and new zealand. he also used to train the korean marines . im also aware that he has a good reputation as a person not to be messed with.
