  1. This summer I was considering making a trip to NYC to train at the USA Shaolin Temple. I'm wondering if anyone has any info about tuition/legitimacy/anything else about the temple? Their website is: http://www.usashaolintemple.com/ They seem very legitimate, but I was just wondering if any of you knew anything more about it. Thanks in advance Namaste mc
  2. That's very true. My instructor/sifu traveled to the Shaolin temple in China for a while and said he saw some monks sparring at a surrounding school. He said they were almost amateurish in their sparring, but then they could turn around and break concrete with their head or whatever.
  3. Zui Quan (drunken boxing) is a chinese martial arts style that comes from Kung Fu (I believe). It imitates the movements of a drunkard, which is where the name comes from, often times making the practitioner look off-balance or even unaware. The theory here is that the opponent will not know where the practicioner's center of balance is and will not know where the practitioner is going to strike next, since he's swaying and stumbling like a drunk person. Its usability in modern combat is widely disputed.
