  1. hi, 32 year old male from new hampshire. I am currently looking to start martial arts and have only 2 schools to attend it's between kenpo and shotokan both instructors are excellent and the schools are just that. i have been asking everyone that i can wich style would you choose to be honest one school is 40 dollars cheaper than the other, my question wich style will help me out more in a "real street fight" I am not too worried about a street fight most of my marine corp training is based in martial arts, but alot of the strikes and take downs are leaning towards killing and serious injury. If anyone has any ideas please feel free to shoot me a reply thanks
  2. hello again well found another school in new hampshire that teaches shotokan karate how does that differ from kenpo... how will it help me in a real life scenario?
  3. thanks for the input. talk to you later
  4. hello thanks for the reply. Well being new again becomes that greater of a handicap, Sensei Lapanne teaches a hybrid Kenpo with his roots deriving from shaolin kenpo. I have attended one class ( the free one) and really think it is going to blend well with the military training that i have also. Any pointers on how i am going to progress( how quickly) I can climb the ranks???
  5. hello all.. I just started taking progressive kenpo karate i am 32 from new hampshire, I am also a former us marine where the close combat training was more judo and jujitsu style (more killing moves then anything) has anyone out there taking or have studied any "progressive" styles??
