  1. This is a very good thing! YOu are passionate about your art - I am the same way by the way. Never change!
  2. Thats good! Then he will be a great teacher. I say go for it, it will help you reach your fitness goals. Just having a routine is half the battle
  3. We do ours with our foot 180 degrees. Supposedly this is the correct hip position but Im sure other styles do it differently for different reasons.
  4. He doesnt act drunk - just wreaks of alcohol - and he has a serious hygiene problem. I quit drinking years ago and started MA to live a healthy life - so naturally he's a real problem and a distraction for me
  5. wow- thx for the quick replies everyone. I ended up talking to my Sensei and he said he is going to pull the person aside. if that doesnt work, he will ask the him to leave. I dont think he has ever been spoken to because he's new, and they usually pair him with me. Great forum here
  6. Hello people. There is this person in our dojo who comes in with filthy hands, wreaks of alchohol, smells horribly, and has cuts everywhere. We do alot of grappling and its getting to the point where Im dreadding coming in because they always pair me off with this person. Now, I understand when we work out everyone sweats, but to come in off the street like this to me is unacceptable. I believe one should come in clean - especially when you know you are going to be up close and personal with someone else. What do you guys think I should do - should I speak to the Sensei about this? I do not want to hurt anybody's feelings, but I do not want to quit because of this person either. advice? thx
  7. That is definately a problem. What other schools are doing in this situation is getting the striped belts - kind of a step between a normal rank - to keep them promoting. It satisfies the kids and their parents. Hopefully as the kids mature they start getting more serious. Good luck peace
  8. Both of my Sensei's are third Dan. peace
