White Belt (1/10)

  1. ok, thanks, its feeling somewhat better today.
  2. I dont remember what happened, but like around a week ago, i hurt my back doing idk, moving furniture/tricking/fighting, i just dont know, but i started getting this lower back pain overnight and it hurts when i bend my back straight or slightly back, or hunch over too much. any suggestions?
  3. do you stretch? maybe it has to do with flexibility? it might be your muscles in that area that is pulling more than it should
  4. thanks! i suppose after my formal training ended, i just dropped most of my simple training! i realize now that was a terrible move because i lost most of the strength in my body as i grew
  5. ok, thanks! ill go do some more research first
  6. what are stun guns and tazers? doesnt one of them emit a shock? as in, shoots it? if it shoots, then your in trouble, but if its gotta touch you, hes chopped people
  7. I want to learn something that will allow me to keep my own in the simplest of ground fightings. I dont know anything about ground fighting besides it is on the ground! any tips?
  8. thanks, i will start training now
  9. i see myself as one of those little black belts, i obtained the first dan level at quite a young age, of 12 and obtained the second dan before i was 14. i know my age may fool you, but i was very talented starting form age 7, although i did see others at my age or younger obtaining the belt before i obtained it, such as my little brother who obtained the black belt at around age 9! i never considered him a true black belt. i even doubted my own rank eventually, seeing the promotions just as something you can obtain through paying for the test. seeing this made me quit TKD and decided to study on my own through thoery
  10. i found a round house to a back kick works pretty well
  11. do it out of school, tell him if he wants to pick a fight with you, if you must fight, fight out of school. but of course, the best way out, is not to fight at all! if you can demonstrate to one person that you can beat them, the rest will probably back off as well
  12. about the rankings, i really think its just about leadership and knowledge, its not that a first dan can't teach... a first dan can teach a white belt would you not agree? teaching beginners are not really a problem eh? also, teaching exercises and whatnot, its not really teaching if thats what is going on, if something like that is going on no big...
  13. I have tried running, but is there a specific exercise i can do that can help my oblique kick? i want to be able to step sidekick offensively, or as a counterattack. most often however, they move back fast enough to totally dodge my kick. because of this, i want to know if i can speed up this kick?
  14. ive read most of this, but what happens when instinctively all you do is retreat backward? not turning, but you know, you go slower running backwards, than the person running at you forward, yes, he maybe highly vulnerable, but i really have trouble finding a weak spot. i have tried such things as step the the side and roundhouse to the side, but most of the time i dont have enough force due to the awkwardness of the previous movement. also, what happens if the person rushing in is not flurrying? instead is just coming at you ready to attack? it is hard to anticipate movement, and it is hard to attack well while his guard is up. Maybe i just to react more quickly?
