  1. Also take a look at the bodyweightculture push up program. I did it two summers ago and got over 90 push ups, then summer was over and I did not finish it. You have to register to see it, but it's free. Go to https://www.Bodyweightculture.com and then look at the programs section.

  3. I don't know if there is set science to it. If you keep doing them and give your body rest to heal and become stronger, then you will be able to do more reps.

  6. Actually it's not my friend, but the owner of the gym that's doing it. I did not know that Savate does something like this. Muay Thai, that's even weirder. lol It's an experiment of coarse. I wonder how would he grade them? Jabs per minute? Punching power? Fights won? If it works, everyone else will do. Look at Youtube. lol
  7. My good friend is a kickboxer turned boxer. ( I know usually it's the other way around.) He told me last night what the gym owner was up to. I did not know if to laugh, cry or what. He used to own a karate/kick boxing gym and purchased a boxing gym from a boxer coach. His first order of busness was to order different color boxing gloves and trunks. Every fighter will be ranked based on the skills to color and will have to box with those. I thought my friend was joking, so I came down there at 8:30 pm. The gym looks like McDojo. Color trunks hanging on the top. Rows of different color gloves. I told my friend, I don't think this will fly with boxers. These are not 8 year old girls who care more about the toe nail polish and cute belts, then about kicks and punches. These are young men, who can barely afford the fees. Interesting experiment, I love to see what happens. Maybe McDojing works well, I been wrong before.
  8. Everything has advantages and disadvantages. If you do them separately, you get to master each one. If you do them together you get to master the transitions. If you do them together on the other hand, like was said, each will try to go into the best territory. (Top, bottom, clinch, inside, outside, etc.) I would break up the class into 3 parts. A part standing, one part on the ground and one part both. Oh wait? How would the transition defense and offense would be worked on?
  9. I back up the core comments. Train your core from every angle. Every kick, block or punch starts with a core.
  10. Yep do front kicks laying down, even sitting in the chair to work those muscles that extend the kick.
  11. Exactly 100 a month, gives me an ability to take any class.
  12. I think this presentation of the front kick is very useful. Paul shows why regular front kick is hard to use and why push front has it's issues. He calls a combination of the two a "hybrid front kick" Very good explantion by one of the better kickers.
  13. I maybe wrong, but it seems that you go from throwing 3 hard punches to win to having to do a lot more techniques. Just a change in that pace could be tiring.
  14. I am surprised I never heard about it. Do you have a video or something. It woulc be nice to see.
