  1. POSE is the name of a mid-foot or toe running style. Just remembere. If you're getting them alot I'd get down to a proper running store and get your stride looked at incase you're in the wrong kid of shoes. ALso be careful not to overtrain and build up gradually.
  2. I run and it is heal - toe for distance. How much you tend to be more heal or more toe is individual. You can get shoes fitted properly from a good running store, that way you'll get the right pair for how you run. They often have a tread mill to watch you run. There is a style of running for distance where people tend to ru very much on their toes. It's more landing softly on the middle rather than bif on the heals. Stride is shorter but much quicker. I can't remember the name
  3. Wada Ru Karate mainly with some kick boxing. They don't really specialize in one style and try to use what will bring advantage, traditional or modern. The club do competition fighting and spend a lot of time spent on fitness and strength. We get taught a fair bit of genreal self defencea and what happens in the real world. My 4 year old son is in the childrens class and he loves it.
  4. Sunny, little bit cold!
  5. Thanks, that's what I was looking for
  6. Only recently taken up Karate and loving it. Not much to say I'm in my 30's, have 2 children the youngest is 9 months. Live about an hour from London if that helps anyone with geography Currently training for a half marathon.
  7. I've only just started and really don't know the main differences between the styles. I need a summary! We do Wado Ryu, mixed with some Kickboxing. Plus some general self defence. How to handle dangerous situations in the pub etc I chose my club because I liked the people. Plus the training and classes suit my personality. I tried to read a history on Wado Ryu and whilst it was all very interesting am still bemused when people talk about other styles. Anyone help me out?
  8. hi I just started at 35. Last week I had my 5th lesson and it suddenly started falling into place. Last week I ended up feeling frustrated and as if I'd never get it. Hang in there!
  9. Not too old. I've just started at 35, 8 months after having a baby. I started taking my 4 year old to a Karate lesson and it looked so much fun thought I should have a try myself. One evening a week I do an hour or circuit and core body strenght exercise with them, followed by hour and a half or Karate plus 30 mins of self defence. It's great fun After Christmas when I'm a bit fitter will add in another session.
