  1. Thats cool , I go to alot of Yankee games and there great to see in person .Mostly I go when I get free tickets and that makes it even better.
  2. I guess that you are not A big fan of Kickboxing if you changed the channel. Most of the martial artist that I know can't wait too see it on Tv and are very happy when it is on.
  3. Hey Patrick, You have never seen any fight on TV . You should check some of the fights out that come on ESPN2 . Kickboxing is really growing all over the world and they show alot of good fights on that show. Does anyone on this board watch Kickboxing on ESPN2 ? Or on other channels in your market ?
  4. Sorry Patrick, I thought that some of the posters might like to discuss the World Heavyweight title fight and some of the other great fighters that fought that night. Has anyone out there ever seen either Dan Lucas or Ruben Colon fight before ? Or Has anyone out there ever seen some of the other fighters mentioned above fight before ?
  5. Congradulations to Dan lucas for winning the USKBA World title in A 10 RD decission against Ruben Colon. This was the best Heavyweight Full contact Fight I have seen in A long time ,Both fighters fought hard for all 10 rds and showed alot of skills there were no Knockdowns just great non stop action. World USKBA Lightheavyweight Champion Randy Pouge of Philadelphia U.S.A. Ko's Naz of Canada in the 5th rd after hurting him with A rear leg round house to the head and getting 4 knockdowns all by kicks before the fight was stopped , This was A very good match and NAZ showed how tough he was and kept getting up. In another great fight Frank Diambra Rochester, NY U.S.A fought Kyle Fergassen Of Canada in A Super Middle weight bout ,This fight had non stop clean punching and Kicking for the whole 5 rds with Frank Diambra winning A decission. Teenage female sensation Kerriann Mcnulty USKBA Junior World champion from Phiadelphia USA 15 yrs old fought agianst A fighter from Canada and showed how great the future of kickboxing is going to be by using great boxing and kickboxing skills like the spinning back fist, Spinning kicks, and awesome punches as well as great defense to win by A unanimous decission. Angello Dibella USKBA/ISKA Lightmiddleweight World champion ( CANADA) Fought A fighter from Rochester Ny and won by A 4th rd TKO Displaying his usuall great variety of skills like the Tornado Kicks , spinning Back Fist and overall World Class Ring generalship. Dibella,s Kickboxing of Canada also did A great martial arts demonstration led by Laura Cordeleone (International Kickboxing Champion). This was A great show and Rochester can look foward to more shows like this in the near future. 6. Hey Sissy, Your trainer nows you best if he or she thinks that you are ready then you probably are ready. There is really no set time of trainning everybody grows at A different pace. Being A heavyweight over A cruiserweight should mean that you punch and kick harder but does not make you A better fighter only trainning and experience can do that for you. I have male fighters that are in the cruiser and hevyweght range and they switch sometimes so that they can get fights. You always have to adjust to who you are fighting and weight would make the other fighter adjust if they have A good trainer.
  7. It is very hard to find one traditional style of martial arts that is best for street self defense. In todays modern world of martial arts there are many good schools that incorporate Punching,Kicking, knees, elbows.throws and Grappling. These are the best schools because they don't rely on one form of self defense like my style is better than yours they just train to win in any situation. As long as the school belives in these basics that A fight is punching ,Kicking ,and wrestling then they are trainning in A realistic format. Otherwise they are trying to sell you on there style is better than yours concept which is not realistic. A good fighter with heart can be trained in any style and be good.
  8. As others have said if it is light sparring you should be working with A partner that is willing to work with you. One way to avoid getting hit with low kicks is similar to boxing circle to your left if you are both right handed fighters but step outside of the kicking range as boxers step outside of the right hand , If the kick is going to hit you step back and block it with your shin on his foot as the shin is much harder than A foot is.If you are A left handed fighter you have A big advantage as you can step with your right foot outside of his lead leg and then the only weapons you would have to avoid would be the spinning back fist and kick, As you are close to your opponent stay low to avoid these weapons.
  9. Curtis Bush was A full contact world kickboxing champion from Georgia I believe and held many titles for A long period of time.He is now retired. The last time I now of him fighting was aginst Tom Kimber on Mass destruction for the IKF World title in Full contact and he lost A decission, I understand that it was A very good fight and Tom Kimber one of the top middleweight champions in Full contact kickboxing today.
  10. Try checking the incoming low kick with your shin on there foot. Your shin will always be stronger than there foot is even if you do not have the best conditioned shins. _________________ tommybeeatafc@yahoo.com http://www.ringoffirekickboxing.com [ This Message was edited by: jamesdasher on 2002-03-22 14:50 ]
