I am going to a martial arts tournament in four days and on the flyer it said you can meet this guy, is he one of the greatest martial artist ever or what?

well if not martial arts then some martial arts philosephy? like in school we are teaching our children to be polite and respectful to there seniors and young children think it would be unpolite to say no and be ferm. kidnappers take advantage of this and police say that is the main tactic used by kidnappers.

My instructor would not be happy with my decision with me studeing another style, but in all reallity I would feel more unhappy with myself. I feel that whatever my instructor is offering to me that is what I would stick with, I feel like my alliegence and trust are in his teachings and is enough,and to me studeing another style would be dissrespecting him in the greatest way.

I was wondering if anyone had to ever spar against multiple oponents in thiere schools ? I did for my black belt I had to spar twou highewr ranking and bigger black belts. they messed me up really good and I bruised thier sides really bad too.the method I had to use was to always keep them in front of me, for everyone that studies different sttyles and schools for sparring and street fighting is your method the same.

Correct me if I am wrong but dont you guys thnk it would be agreat idea to teach children (like kindergardeners or up) on how to protct themselvs from an attacker trying to kidnap the If not TKD or Karate then some form of self defense to try to reduce the ratio of stolen children?

Jet LI is a great martial artist but my personal opinion he is just trying to be like Bruce Lee.

I have had expierienced Karate and I am now in TKD and this art relies more on percision and speed. whenever I dont deliver a teqenuiqe in the right place with enuogh power and speed, I cant leave!

I know the movies are movies it just angers me when I see people act so irressponsibly and treat people so wrong, LIKE ON THE MOVIES.

Well think of it this way do you actually believe that if you were in astreet fight that point sparring is actually going to help you. just because you tap 3 times in the stomach dosent mean he or she is going to stop. And for your information I have had WTF training and tried using to defend myself from bullys and when I used a tequnieqe it only make them mad and after only two monthI was only three levels from black belt. even the parents who had no idea of martiual arts knew some thing as wrong and took their kids from it after nearly a year. Thats when I came to ITF TKD it had more power and the ten year old children were more powerful then the instructor at WTF school.

O.K O.K O.K. Soorry about this guys, its just that around my neighborhood there are alot of bad kids whos uncles and fathers teach them martial arts or pay for there training at a dojo. They invite there other friends who are bad kids who have dabbled in other styles and try to create there own fighting style and beat up on the weak like an old asian martial arts movie. They have messesed with my friends and I have proved what ever mixted training wrong ina matter of fact. I am due to fight these bullies at 8:00 today so me other blackbelts from my school are coming to support me incase they decide not to fight fare. By the way my experiences with these kind of people has made me think the way I do. Sorry you guys Ill be more open minded in the future.

I do ITF TKD and for what I have learned is that there is no need for WTF. It seems all that they teach is point sparring, and messed up what the general has made for us TKD martial artist. It seems that they know what people want then rather give them what they need. And they seem to be making a prophet off of it and the popularity to boot. if you read this please honestly tell me what you all think.
