Yellow Belt

Yellow Belt (2/10)

  1. If you into this stuff... http://www.bodyweightculture.com/BWCM3-1.html
  2. What about cross-training. Just run or do calisthenics or lift. Don't throw any kicks or punches for a while. You may be surprised how fast you would want to get back into it.
  3. Movies are the bomb. A good movie can get you in the mood like nothing else. Also if you don't want to work out- don't. A few days of rest can do miracles.
  4. Negatives, negataive, negatives. Do a bench press with a barbell or dumbells as much weight as you can. You will get there.
  5. Short story. One young black belt was fighting a middle aged yellow belt. the yellow belt scored, knocking the black belt down. When the black belt got up, he said "wow, I am embaraced" a yellow belt hit me. The yellow belt pointed to the material around his waist and answered "this did not hit you, I did" I guess the moral of this story is clear.
  6. "Tightening in the hips" is the same as " make me some food" What do you want to eat? What do you mean by tightening? Which muscle or at least where? Different muscles require different stretches. Also it can be joint or cartilage or tendons or ligaments or lyme's or many other things. Get a professionals opinion.
  7. Arnica can be taken homeopathically externally and internally. External it's often a gel. Iternal it's in form of sugar pellets. Also try bromelain and other enzymes internally they speed up healing and decrease inflammation.
  8. Have you tried defensive side kicks agains thrown 20 lbs medicine balls. That is fun lol
  9. When you throw this strike, what do you make contact with. Since this is an effective technique I got interested in it. I heard people say that you should strike with the tip of the elbow. ON the other hand from my experience with breaking, the whole forearm seem more usefull. The forearm strike doesn't have the rotation of the tip strike, but it makes up in forward movement and less chances of self injury. So what part of the elbow/forarm would you hit with?
  10. After ice, massage it and heat it. Moist heat pad will be good. Also Arnica and rest.
  11. Develop your weakness and exell on your strength. Or something like that.
  12. Hand stand push ups. Some upside down yoga exercises. Which part of the traps are you looking for?
  13. Flexibility is the key to what? I am flexibile, so I am not bashing flexibility. But I don't think it's the end all for success.
  14. IF you do them to failure, and are sore then next day. Than do every other day. If you only do a few sub maximal sets, than you can do them every day. But still take time to build up to that.
  15. Strength in the wrist helps. If you have a strong wrist, you can prevent the aggrevation of the problem. Just do some google searches and you will get allot of wrist exercises. Those will help you stay in martial arts.
