ahhh...
the secret art of stomping on downed opponent...
-
i think that you think that he thinks i was talking about what he thought he was taking about what he was thinking about talking about what i was thinking that he was talking about....
-
ok if seeing as we are talking fiction here...
let's see, technically we are not talking about bond himself but the whole division who carry the 00 tag.
yes bruce wayne has a lot of money but bond has the financial backing of an entire country and then some extra from allies.
also bond is an agent in a larger organisation, whose goal is to protect the country.
this means that if the threat is bigger than the 00 agents can handle, they will send in an airforce or two...
you can't really say that batman has the backing of the justice league.
most of the time they are worrying about the things he does cos um, well, he doesn't quite follow their rules.
most of the time, it's like if he doesn't do anything too extreme, they'll let it slide...
on a critical note, i think bond's character is a bit under-rated.
true sometimes his motives are a bit suspect and at the end of the day IT IS his job but he does have a level of commitment to his job.
i mean, part of the 00 privilage is the cost that at any given day he might have to pay with his life.
you could argue that his outward appearance is purely his 'mask'.
is this any different to batman's mask?
but then, if you've seen my post somewhere else about the batman character, you'll see that he has a special place in my 'super hero list'.

whoa there mama....
when have you ever known me to offended by anything here?
you can insult if you like, i don't mind
i kinda enjoy seeing new insults.
y'know, the things that a lot of guys say is old and boring.
sometimes, just sometimes, i like to see something original.
-
me?
because i am simply not good enough.
i remember the last time i played with a grappler.
i remember thinking if it was worth trying to struggle out of an attempted hold and risk breaking something or should i just tap.
the fact that i still have both arms in full working order should tell you what i chose...
i still can't see how he got that kinda hold on my arm.
i mean, he showed me slowly but i can't for the life of me see how/why i lost my position.
and then there's my time training with a boxer.
never before have i been slapped around so much.
man, many happy days in that little sports hall.
i think we were the only guys who used it.
oh, and the uni's chinese society who plays their badminton and stuff there.
good times.
-
which brings us to the conterpoint.
if you are good enough to be able to keep it on your feet, then you deserve to win.
too bad not many can.
-
i'm going to be pedantic and say the winner will be the one the writer chooses.
-
well, he always admitted that there were guys at yip man's place that he couldn't beat....
strange that these guys were either the born and bred streetfighters or the bigger guys.
-
like mr garrison says.
'there are no stupid questions, only stupid people'
-
it's a bit of a shame isn't it?
i mean, proper grappling turned into a farce in the name of entertainment...
-
here's a challenge, taken up by many but completed by few.
try to find actual records of van damme's karate champ fight.
-
i agree with the weight thing.
the guy was tiny...
i remember lots of stories about how some of the bigger guys on set would creep up behind him, pick him up, put him on their shoulders and run about like a madman!
-
but there are always those who can't see beyond their little world where bowing=worship.
anyway, we don't bow.
we have the little 'ming' hand symbol that we do.
it's a mark of respect for those in the past who gave their lives for freedom (also known as the first triads in china...
)
-
...
someone tell him before he makes an even bigger * of himself.
-
-
nothing wrong with it.
just thought the history of REAL wrestling might be more interesting, that's all.
although i'm kinda interested now in how and when the change from proper contest to scripted show took place...
-
i don't think there is anything fight related that bruce didn't train in....
even the art of gumming!
-
it's not america i have a thign against.
it's stupid people.
-
hmm, in taht case maybe you should start by looking at something else because the wwf/e is so much more entertainment than serious competition.
unless of course that is what you are interested in; family entertainment.
-
whoa...
the challenge thing happened a long time ago.
emin did it to make a point.
you could say the same about why the gracies declined his challenge.
in any case, it isn't about who was afraid or not.
it's more about who has more to gain from it.
i think both parties declined because they are smart enough to see that they both stand to lose a lot if it goes wrong and not gain a lot if it goes right.
and once again because i can not stress this enough.
the style does not matter because ultimately, it is the man who uses the style, not the other way around.
you could know the ultimate supreme fighting style but if you're crap at it, you're going to be crap.
-
-
hmm, your choice but there are probably better things to learn than the history of a thing such as u.s pro wrestling, especially w.w.f/e
-
i don't insult.
i mock the things you say.
-
i think to be able to beat a gracie you have to be able to fight first...
batman vs james bond

i don't think the two are that different.
take away the money, the gadgets and what do you have?
two ordinary guys who have determination and committment to their cause.
