Yes! Karate gives more speed and endurance for both Sumo and Ju-jitsu. Sumo gives more power for karate and ju-jitsu, and ju-jitsu gives me more stamina, and helps me with my ground moves. So it's like this: i can make a karate speedy, powerfull sumo takedown and finish with a grappling move.

In training ive learned more than fighting and counting, i've lerned a way to live! That commercial is cool! I've already seen it!
-
And that is all that counts!

Ok i will keep you posted. Japanese? I know how to say thank you, good night, good day, and count up to 100....
-
Thanks!

In restaurants i don't believe so..... It's kinda of a heavy meal, i think only sumotoris in sumo schools eat it! And i never tried it But i believe i will very soon, because i'm heading to Japan for the Sumo World Championships
-
The professional sumo wrestlers diet consists in only one meal per day. A stew called Chanko Nabe, made with rice, vegies, and only white meat (chicken and other birds), and it's very nutricious kinda of 8500 cal. In one meal of Chanko Nabe you can eat up to 50000 cal.

I eat as normal as the next guy, don't do anything special to get big....i believe where everybody does the same, diets to get big it's mainly a japanese thing!
-
Kinda of slow, but if grab you in one of those huge arms, youre dead meat......
-
well one of my sumo practice partners is 6 foot 7 and 487 pounds! i believe that is big enough!
-
well i'm 6 foot 5 and about 278 pounds!
-
If you can please name those 12 katas because in my school we have more than 12....tnks!

4th kyu (Red belt) Goju-Ryu
-
He won titles, but i didn't said that he was quick....in fact is was very very slow...but in that case size does matter.... And by the way......Yokozuna, only the pros in Japan, can compete to become it.....and Emanuel was in the Amateur championships.
-
Ok but don't forget that he was a 2 time World Sumo Champion in Open Weight, and a 3 time World Sumo Champion in Teams Competition. And yes that man is HUGE!
-
In fact they only eat 8500 calories a day...in only one meal.... And NO they are NOT SLOW! Thanks y2_sub for linking the other thread!

One thing i think that is not a good idea to kick a Sumotori in the groin...because they have specific training to keep their testicls inside their body when they are fighting....it's not hard because your body is able to do it easily, when we are babys and we are inside our mother's belly the testicls are inisde the body not outside.....
-
This is getting weird....
-
I don't think so, the professional and the amateur leagues follow the same rules
-
Nop. There are several weight categories. -85 Kg (Lightweight) -115 Kg (middleweight) + 115 Kg (heavyweight) Open ( any weight can compete). Now days many people die due to heart problems....but yes lots of sumo practitioners (Japanese mainly ) die before 50. In Europe and the rest of amateur sumo world, i believe not many follow de sumo 'diet' (except for the japanese because they also run in the amateur circuit). 90 % of amateur sumotoris are practitioners of grappling MA's ( Judo, Sambo, BJJ, Greco-Roman wrestling, etc...), so i beleive they eat normally.
