  1. Karate Kids movies supposed to be a joke??? They are a joke, hence my reference to them - but I suppose they're not meant to be a serious representation of karate - it's good for kids though, get them into the idea at least of martial arts. It's all good!
  2. I don't know where karate derived from, but Okinawa seems the most feasible choice - besides, the Sensei from "Karate Kid" was from Okinawa, and he can't be wrong because he can mend bikes and he has 10 classic American cars. Whoever invented it, cheers guys, I'm loving it!
  3. I started to do Go-Kan-Ryu, but found the lessons were undisciplined and sloppy, with there being many unruly kids there who made a mockery of the whole art with constant folling around and chatting - I switched to Wado-Ryo, which I believe is the traditional form of Karate, and I find it much better - the kids there are well-behaved (they get press-ups if they're not!), and the sensei really pushes you to the max, which i think is what it's all about.
