Yellow Belt (2/10)

  1. The only weaponry disarment i know is...if you see a weapon...then run. I think its sensless for a MA to teach you how to defend against a weapon...if a mugger comes up to me with a knife and asks for money im gonna give it to him lol. And as for being in a street fight with someone who has a weapon...never encountered it...and ive been in ALOT of fights. My advice is this...since you already know some basics of BJJ...order some advanced videos...then contact someone from your old dojo and get him to grapple with you on saturdays or something for like an hour...while doing that...join the muaythai club.
  2. like the first post on here...kill kill kill kill.
  3. I dont know about you guys...but im so confident in my fighting abilities that yeah i have fought alot more and now people dont mess with me...because they know....they know ill get them on the ground and im just too good there..what can i say?lol. As a matter of fact....i fight professionally now..so i would say definately.
  4. Did everyone just completely ignore my opinion....if its so affective why not use it in vale tudo no rules fighting to test it against other styles. In a real fight situation...i doubt you will have time to do dim mak or whatever.
  5. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu goes like this: white-blue-purple-brown-black. And its a really really long period of time. On average around like 8-9 years to be certified black belt by a Gracie. But atleast you'll know these guys are actual black belts...they have had to dedicate so much time to it. When i started grappling i was 8 years old, my dad had a leather furniture store with my uncle and i would be there like everyday afterschool....the next building over was Reylson Gracie Jiu Jitsu...so i just started going there...it took me till i was around 11 just to get my blue belt.
  6. I been training muay thai alot more lately....i was just wondering...what are your techniques for getting in a nice roundhouse to the head. I mean like Peter Aerts style....and not the actual kick just how to set them up so they have no gaurd up on their head...so i can just kick and end it?
  7. exactly Sauzin....its who can apply basic takedowns...or takedown defenses and grappling techniques that can gain the dominant position on the ground....im sure i can do that with mostly anyone. I have a brown belt in BJJ which took me since i started at the age of 8. And i went to state finals on the highschool wrestling team. Im not really big...im about 5'9"....150lbs...but my intent in any one on one fighting situation is to go to the ground. Just like you guys train weapons...its all the same basic techniques...its who can apply them the best through extensive training...same goes for grappling. Your little brother can mount...but if you trained BJJ you would be able to mount him alot easier even if he was your size.
  8. we'll grapple some time lol....but only gaurd and mount.
  9. It would suck for you to train where i do....i do BJJ and its grappling...lol. The gaurd position looks really sexual lol. Actually i grappled with one of the girls there for a long time...she was a purple belt and i was still white belt and she tapped me out like every time...i wouldnt try to pass her gaurd because i really liked being there lol.
  10. I dont get tested in BJJ....i compete....and they can tell at the academy if my grappling has improved. BJJ is alot slower than karate...it took me around 3 years just to get my blue belt...and thats the next belt up from white. At my academy they understand that it takes alot of time to master something...unlike alot of other places.
  11. just like to point out how easily that ended up on the ground.....guess he didnt know BJJ.
  12. thats probably true because a kung fu master wouldnt compete in it....its violent. That being said though....after i had trained 2 years in bjj it gave me a huge huge huge almost definate edge over any fight.
  13. doesnt it work to just take someone down, mount them then ground and pound?
  14. just download limewire...and search for street fights...or download the movie Bum Fights or buy it.
  15. Oh and another thing...i have read every post on here and i havent seen one post point to any grappling arts. You should consider that majority of these fights will end up on the ground and someone only trained in standup fighting would probably lose in a ground fighting situation. Someone can fight standing up on instincts against a boxer, muay thai fighter, or wing chun master and probably survive...but ussually someone who doesnt know about ground fighting cant last at all on the ground with someone who does. Not to put anyone down at all..i respect all your opinions but i dont see anyone addressing the chance of it going to the ground...and thats a pretty big chance.
