Have I failed as a martial artist?

I don't think that what you did could be make you a failure. That guy is a cocky jerk. What is did disrespected you, your instructor and the other people sparring that night. If your instructor did the same thing then I doubt that it really was wrong to do what you did. -
I feel that it is easier to work hard when done in an fun way. I would work hard if all we did was exercises however it makes it alot more interesting. My Sensei always changes the main purpose of the class. One day it can be about DMMs and Kempos, next it can be about Katas. That keeps it from being too predictable

I hear a joke on Cartoon Network about Martial Arts all the time. the sad thing is, thanks to horrible movies and TV shows, people think that because you do karate you should be able to chop a brick in half. I usually don't tell anybody anymore so t really does not involve me but I'm sick and tired of the disrespect and expectations the Martial Arts get and recieve these days.

Spin around and do Hammer strike to head. Turn 70 degrees clockwise then a back punch.

How many days per do you go to school?
Ridge_hand replied to CapitalKarate's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
4 days of class not including tournaments and home training. -
I would never use a spearhand unless I'm sure I could make movements to make sure it hits a soft spot. So I guess I would pretty much not use it.

Meh. I train at one of the dojos and the Sensei there is nice and does a good job. So it really depends on what you want to do. -
I have not heard anything but rumors either. I'll look around for any articles about it.
-
I understood that completely that is very interesting, I never heard of that before.
-
Meh, that is true, my Sensei always tells us to respect the other people and mostly we do a good job.
-
My Dojo is good. there are some great people there, my Sensei is kind and understanding and I always get a good hard workout.

Purple and I'm hoping to become Blue in about a year. Sigh, Purple just takes so much time to get and it takes even longer to get to blue

Hello. I've been looking for a good Martial Arts forum for a few weeks now. I looked in a search engine and I found this site, I looked at a few posts and decided that I would join this forum. The last forum I went to the admins never came to the forum and the Mods ruled like Tyrants, anybody who disagreed with them was banned. I quickly escaped from that forum. I live in Colorado and study Karate.
