  1. well compare this to tae kwon do.. tae kwon do is just all flashy, useless on the street. maybe not useless, but it is pointless. they both arent that great for combat, but if a capoiera master and a tae kwon do master were to fight, i'de put my money on the capoiera fighter.

  3. just watch some of the Gracies fight... I would say that BJJ wouldn't be a bad choice at all. If it was available in my area, I would definitely be taking it.
  4. yeah just spar more and you will get used to it. every time i get hit, it just gives me more energy to fight back, and it makes me more determined to win. and the more you spar, the better you will get, and the better you get, the less amount of times you get hit
  5. southpaw and orthodox.. some good strategies when both fighters take different leads? I am a southpaw fighter. I like to box my friend, who is about 25 lbs heavier than me (we're both 5'7", i am 135 lbs). My friend is an orthodox fighter. He has his power hand (his right) in the back and his left in the front. He doesnt's jab, just blocks my jabs and stiff arms me with his left and gives powerful right crosses the whole match, timing himself. Advice on both issues? Thanks
  6. I take Jeet Kune Do, and I am also very interested in Muay Thai. Some of you might know, your power hand is placed up front for stance in JKD, but in MT it is not.. I notice the powerful roundhouse kicks are delivered from the power rear, but my question is, how would I be able to deliver (or try to) just as powerful and quick roundhouses with my power foot placed up front in my stance? Thanks
  7. what if your children's life were on the line? wouldnt a parent do just about anything for their children? even if it meant sacrificing their own life.. or somebody elses.
  8. aha, that response was amusing and very informative; thank you. Once I get fatter I plan to do some lifting and jogging, but remain the same size.. just so I can be fat and strong, and not get tired easier [in a fight]. any other suggestions would be appreciated!
  9. hey everybody.. I dont know why, but I just want to get fatter. i'm 5'7" 135 pounds.. what can i eat to get fat? I want to get like 145-155 pounds. I dont mean muscle mass, just... weight. The one thing I dont want is a double-chin.. but other than that I just want to fatten myself up. I know this doesnt make all that sense.. but please let me know what I can eat to gain the desired weight, and how soon it would happen. I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
