  1. Do you ever look back on your older posts and wonder how you could have been so stupid back then? I wish there was some way to delete all of my older stupid posts.
  2. yeah i will "honor" the contract by paying them 200 dollars. thanks leaf, now I know I'll never sign contracts again, at least not for MA. thanks dekan for your input, when i first went to check out the TKD place they had trophies set up everywhere. maybe trophies can be a sign that the club is into making money? maybe not. hmm. what are some other signs i should look for to see if a MA dojo is for real?
  3. hey i don't live in california. thanks for your responses, i know what you guys mean about the quality of training, but.. if the place actually taught what it was worth i probably would have still stayed around. But the thing is, other than the fact the classes are boring (we do the same stuff each class), the instruction is horrible. They don't even tell you how to do a technique, they just have one of their blackbelts do a technique really quick and expect you to figure it out. and most of their blackbelts can't do the moves properly, so it's hard to learn (a lot of them are little kids). since i couldn't learn the techniques from my class I just looked it up from books and learned it liked that, but im tired of doing that all the time. and i've been going for almost a year now and we still haven't started contact sparring. we do no contact sparring every now and than, but barely. i'd say once a month at most. really horrible. thanks for your replies.
  4. After reading all of your replies I think it's best for me to stick to it for another two months and than go to a better place. Though I feel like im wasting my time, going to TKD even if it's a McDojo must be a lot better than sitting on the couch all day. At least now I know to never sign contracts! It's a good lesson. thanks
  5. I signed a contract in TKD for a year. I thought it was fun at first but now it's pretty boring. I still get exercise by going there and everything, but I know it's a Mcdojo. Because it's only 2 hours a week and 100 dollars for one month. Not to mention it costs 50 dollars for belt tests which is a bit unfair for me. Fortunately it's all over in about two months, and I'll be searching for another art but I wanted to know what you thought. Should I keep going to TKD for the next two months. Or should I quit TKD right now, waste the already wasted 200 dollars, save my time and search for another art right away? what would you do?
  6. hey avril. so basically you're saying you should eat lots of carbs, but only from fruits and vegetables and not stuff like rice, potatoes, bread, pasta, etc? thanks.
  7. That sounds awesome. Is it possible you could get on KF every two weeks and tell us how it's going?
  8. It's your choice. If you want to stay, you should stay. If you want to go to the new dojang, then go.
  9. Taekwondo and hapkido have similar kicks from what I know. Good luck with hapkido.
  10. hey karatekid how did you get out of the contract for your other TKD school? (or how do you plan to if you haven't already?)
  11. How about muay thai or kickboxing? It has two of the things you are looking for. Good luck
  12. I think it would be hard to find an art with everything you want. You might want to think of crosstraining in the future. Or you could try checking out Jeet Kune do.
