I am similar, every time I open my wardrobe I lift my knee to waist height to kick anyone who might be hiding in there. I would hate to think what would happen if I did get a burgular in my house, With my Unlce, a Martial Arts master and me with all of my weapons in my room!

Is Jackie Chan 5 thugs at a time possibble?
Taku-Shimazu replied to Taku-Shimazu's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Alot of feedback, 20 guys at once? I see that things have escalated. OK to change it abit, what are your personal experiences with multiple enemies? Personally I never get attacked much, hardly ever but when I do I often just use MA skills and rarely have to use my range of weapons that I carry with me all of the time. [ 4 Shuriken 2 Kunai 1 Tetsubishi 1 Nunchaku] So, What are your personal experiences with multiple enemies? -
My first was home-made Shuriken and a Kunai, I used to train throwing it a a tree for practice, and I still do.

Konnichiwa, What is important about buying a Bokken? Is the blade the most important component? The Blade? Handle? Tsube? Case?

How many forum members does it take to change a lightbulb...
Taku-Shimazu replied to The_One's topic in General Chat
I like to train in the darrk, that solves that problem. -
Do any of you train to make your skills better like this: What I am talking about is that I train in She Quan (I do not do She Quan, I just like using it.) I use a bamboo stick, with an apple skewered on a the end and then I use a piece of string around the other end and attach it to a pipe that stick out of the side of my house (I have a side alley) and then I use She Quan to attack it. I also like to balance juggling balls on the back of my flat hands and see how fast I can move using She Quan techniques without dropping them. Any of you do anything like that?

Taku-Shimazu replied to Davison's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
I have noticed some moves included in both Chuan and Yang, and they are the same. Can anyone please explain about what are differences in Tai chi styles? -
No, not like that, is that even possible? think that but without all of the links except the last one on the tip of the sword.

Where is your Martial Arts "Home"??
Taku-Shimazu replied to username9's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I am Japanese, Karate, Ninjitsu. But I have also learned Tai Chi Yang form and are learning Tai Chi Chuan, From China. Ninjitsu is an interesting one, It is said (By Stephen Hayes, a man who trained with a real ninja school.) that Ninja come from the mountain people known as Tengu, which are said to be half man and half crow. -
You have my deepest sympathy.

I know a few sites, where are you, UK, US? (Delivery) I also want a new pair, I bought some about 4 years ago and I want some new ones but the cheapest I can find is £40 / $60 That alot compared to what I payed last time.
-
Yes I have used them and I still do, more often than you would think. You say they killed your hands, did they not have padding? My pair are fine as far as pain goes, Did you say that you could use them? How high have you gone? My highest is about 25ft. on a tree. They are Ninja weapons actually (That is how I know them.) They are called Shuto? I update tommorrow.

Clonked yourself doing nunchaku?
Taku-Shimazu replied to ShotokanKid's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
I have done this many times, but not with Nunchaku, but Tonfa. And I have also been shot with a couple of 'dummy' arrows as well. OK that sounds a bit confusing, let me explain. I wanted to test my speed, well my uncle wanted to test my speed as he has high hopes for me in MA. So he constructed a bamboo bow complete with bamboo arrows, he used blunt bamboo arrows and the bow was quite weak so it didn't kill me. He stood about 4 meters away (Before you ask I was wearing safety goggles) And he fired at me and I had to block them with head blocks and knee blocks (Karate). -
That is irrelivant. It could have been an attacker, a squirrel, or whatever what I am talking about is what I did, not the plant!

I would like to thankyou all also.

Congratulations! -
Yes I have had a dream along the lines of MA. I am meditateing in the forest and a Tengu like creature appears from behind a tree and then blinds me with a gust of leaves, when I look again he is gone. Then all the trees come alive and turn into Tree warriors in a human like form, I must then defeat them and then it kind of blurs.
-
I don't have any problems because my uncles teaches me so I pay full attention, but I do say "Can we stop now?" And he says; "No! You will never learn if you don't practise!"
-
Yes I understand that but, Why did my body defend itself without my knowing? Subconsious instinct?
-
A couple of days ago I was walking in a field near my home and I looked back and then was going to look back but then I jumped and had a kind of rush and I found myself in fighting stance shouting Osu! at a small plant I had just walked into. This all happened in an instant and it took me a few seconds to figure out what had just happened, I mean Karate was at the back of my mind and then it was controlling my body without my concious mind knowing. Have any of you ever experienced anything like that?
-
Thanks that site looks useful but I can't get around the fear part, If you land on your head you could be paralised, ever known that to happen? Is a flip with hands a back flip?

Are we Warriors or Cowards?
Taku-Shimazu replied to dippedappe's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
No, They may not be used for war but some MA were designed for war and some places still teach these unchanged MA, even though they may never be used.
