White Belt

White Belt (1/10)

  1. Very helpful you are . Thanks again. I know who to aggravate if I have a questions:)!
  2. The 1 hour of light exercise may not do much. In order to lose weight, the emphasis should be placed on aerobic activities, such as jogging, swimming etc. I run to my friends hour ruotinely too. 1 to 1 1/2 miles there and the same distance back. should i be running more or is this fine?
  3. I do this to ym best ability tring to do it back to back to back 1 to 1/2 hrs a day in the morning and night unless school then 2hrs a night. i wiegh 135 and im 5'5" I'm working on cutting back to my origional diet this ones not to good.
  4. Well I wouldn't think of it till I was atleast a 1st degree black belt. Sure at first you'll have advantages but you'll find that the serious black belts who later "cross train" do better and seem to learn faster. I'd listen to your sensai belive me I want to pick up jujitsu/judo but I must first master my current tas before trying to master another..
  5. I start the diet and excersice tommarow if it is succesful Ill either make a post or reply to this one with the results and how i accomplished ect. I'll go for an 1hr of light excersise,( 3 or so sets of 25, crunches, pushups, stretches) and if I am not tired maybe another set. Also i plan to work on my teqniques and kata. Thanks my friend!
  6. I have decent stamina its how, when i was in tang soo do(which i am training to rejoin after events in life) i beet my sparring partner. Running lond distance and slowing down for a few then speeding up again is how i got ym stammina but other get it other ways. I can vouch for that one for sure but it differs for the person i believe... Then again I am a white belt so.... Goodluck eitherway!
  7. I am a white belt with a very decent technique range(For a whitebelt I think .) Kicks- Side kick, round house, cresent kick, forward kick, and several not in the top of my head o.0. I Know a variety of block/stance and punches also. Well mainly I want to get into shape while perfecting my routines. I have alot of stamina and can usualy go 1hr-1.5hr with only a 2 minuet break for water and stretching. I'd like to be a better kicker and certainly get into shape before entering my dojo again. Any Routines you think that will prove effective? (As far as my diet i'm startuing that tommarow nothing sweet/high carbed/lotsa fruit and vegies, no soda or other mainly sugar drinks.) If you can't tell I want to get back in there and start shooting for those belts. Thanks alot for dealing with all my questions. Aaron, I ate big today cuzz it's the last time till turkey day 05 ^^!
  8. I'll get to the point. I am in bad physical condition. I am a whightbelt with 6 month expiriece. I lost 20 lbs but recently I got braces (about 3 months or so ago) and for some reason left the dojo up untill now. I want to go back but i want to get back into good shape and then my master will let me resume where I was rank wise in the blackbelts. He's a great guy and I am glad he's giving me this chance at little cost to me at all to come back! My whieght is in my thighs and stomatch. Also my left arm is preety useless any idea of how to bring me back up to par ^^. Exspecially that arm it slows me down alot on my pushups pull ups ect. THANKS-=-
  9. Well those listed above deal with weapons. I like the idea of having having hands and feet as self defence weapons my self. But yah I'd suggest somehtign along the lines you listed above. Oh and don't get to bulky the saying the bigger they are the harder they fall is true.
  10. You school become liek a family really quick don't worry about it. They will encourage you right untill the day yuo leave the dojo a well trained black belt. Even then i'm sure you'll get phone calls, I know I call old dojo members! Good luck. I'm sure you'll do great.
  11. Well, I got about 6 months expirience under my belt before i got my braces and for some unknown reason i stopped going to my martial arts class. Anyway I am 14 and am very serious about re-joining the school. I was only a white belt, but my teacher believes that it takes quite a few years to be a true black belt. I was the highest white belt, farthe up then people who had been there months before me. When i was doing exersises requiring me to do a horse stance i went as low as the black belt who was teaching me to go went. He said to me and the other new white belt in a private section, " I like you guys, even though i don't ask you go lower with every excersize even though your tired." I just had a few quick questions so that i can get back on track and off to a good start. As you can tell trying hard wasn't my problem. I was probly on my way to being a yellow belt and doing decent in the tournement that was about to take place. Well maybe, its one of my questions. Well I'll get to the point. 1) Staying in shap is a hard thing for me. Any suggestions on diet and excersis ruotines? 2)When I practice a kick and punch ruotine i have good speed and am accurate. But when I spar with some one it's liek I loose any skill i have I am slow to react. I think it's becuase I am afraid to hurt them or perhaps its becuase i'm shy? Any Suggestions on this? 3)Any other suggestions to help me do better? To give you an Idea of my wieght to perhaps give em a better idea of a training routine I'm about 5'5" give or take 130lbs. Thanks so much. I am so excited to start. I may take up Judo for a few years after I get a brown/purple belt in my current martial arts.(tand soo do)
