  1. I heard that Samurai Champloo was good. I'll have to check in out.
  2. Bandai Visual is supposed to do some new episodes. About a year ago rumors started going around direct from Bandai. I'd like to see a pre-Cowboy Bebop series about Spike, Julia, and Vicious.
  3. yup. well... maybe... there are more than one. outlaw star is another. But most likely, you are thinking of the right one. Yeah it is. Spike is a bounty hunter. Same with Outlaw Star. I haven't seen outlaw star, but Cowboy Bebop was made by the same people. As I understand (Of what little I have read about Outlaw Star) they are supposed to happen within either the same time or close. And in the same Solar Syetem. I could be wrong though.
  4. Watch the series before you watch the movie. I'm not really sure that you have to. In some anime, the movies are tied to the series, but this one is not. It takes place midway between the bebop series and doesn't really reference any events in the series, if I remember correctly. My point is it may be confusing. "Why are they on Mars?" and so on. There are a few refrences. They're hard to notice though. I'd say more but I don't want to be the guy that posts spoilers.
  5. Watch the series before you watch the movie. And remember that it's an anime. So watch it with an open mind, but no expectations.
  6. No not yet. Just learned a few blocks from my cousin that took TKD for a while. How did you get intrested in martial arts, Mary?
  7. I'd think since he was in the synidcate, that he had some kind of troubled youth. Therefore he is just an experenced street fighter, and has used part of Bruce's philosophy of using what works for him. Not to mention he probably got the best training available from the Red Dragons. If you want to see the best fight scenes, go out and buy Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, Knocking On Heaven's Door. If you liked the show, then you won't be dissapointed in the movie.
  8. I'm homeschooled. There is a Goju-ryu (I think that's how you spell it) school and an Akido school around here (as far as I know anyway). I just need to get the money so when I find what I want, then I can start right then. That'll have to wait a little because I have a guitar on layaway at the music store.
  9. Hi. I'm also 15. I'm still trying to find what martial art studio I want to study at. I am a musician, and a mechanic in training.
  10. Hey, enjoying great music isn't geeky. I have been listening to "Is it Real?" and "What Planet Is This!" alot lately. And you can't forget the great "The Real Folk Blues". Over the last 4 or 5 months I learned "Goodnight Julia" on the guitar. About 5 days ago I finaly got every note and I can't stop playing it. I also learned "Memory" (That really cool music box song).
  11. Here is what you say to them: "Your futile attempt at hurting me with mere words have failed miserably"
  12. As long as one person knows what the other person is talking about, I'd say who cares, right?
  13. NWOBHM doesnt stand for that. It stands for New Wave Of Brittish Heavy Metal Just thought i'd point that out BTW: My fav bands are HIM, Korn, Metallica, Pantera, Slipknot and Ministry of Sound Huh. I always heard it as new world order. Thanks for pointing that out.
  14. Me too... I love music. My dad always says that my house is like a branch of HMV (UK music store!) as there are so many CDs about. Still, there's always new bands and albums emerging that I'd like to get the CDs of. I like so many bands that it's always hard for me to choose a particular favourite. I like Blondie, Green Day, Rammstein, God Forbid, Guns N Roses, Metallica, Flogging Molly, Pantera, Send More Paramedics, Iron Maiden, Cold, Wednesday 13, Nirvana, Entombed, Rancid, Black Sabbath, Emperor, Foo Fighters... the list goes on... Oh, and my own band too - Son. I play bass guitar and sing a bit too. Still, I think my favourite of all time has to be Queen. RIP Freddie Mercury. Yeah, Rammstein are good. Iron Maiden is great. They are my fave NWOBHM(New World Order of British Heavy Metal) band. Also, I didn't know Freddie Mercury was dead. I like the stuff Queen did for the movie and tv series Highlander.
  15. Black Label Society. If you haven't heard of them do a search. They're great. Metallica Pantera(R.I.P. Dime) Megadeth Seven Nations(Another great band worth checking out) Stevie Ray Vaughn Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts My taste in music is very large. If I only had about $3000 dollars to get CD's I want
  16. Thanks for all the help guys. This forum is cool I more than likely will. Or at least some wrist supports. I heard this is a good cardio workout too. Just go all out on it for 5 min. or so. Is this true?
  17. I'm a mechanic and Guitarist in training. My hands are already calloused enough. Thanks for the tip. So it won't make me slow if I hit a heavy bag?
  18. What punching bag weight would be best? I heard that too heavy a bag will give muscle mass and slow you down. I need punching and kicking power. There is a #70 canvas bag at Gart Sports for like, $65. It has real thick canvas and heavy stitching. I can't recall brand. I need something to just go all out on for like 5 minutes non stop without worry of breaking or anything.
  19. Thanks man. I was thinking about getting a punching bag (there's a really nice #70 canvas bag for $65 at the Gart Sports.) and going all out on it for 5 minutes or so. I read that is a great cardio workout.
  20. What is the diffrence between pull-ups and chin-ups? I guess I should have mentioned earlier that money is tight (Restoring a '73 Charger this year) and can't really afford much. So any tips on streching would be appreciated. Thanks.
  21. So all I got so far is: Joint Rotations Warm-up Blank (Streching) Crunches Push-ups(Working there anyway) I need help with streching and bodyweight exercises. I don't need muscle mass. I am mostly swedish so i'm pretty much a big tall blond guy. I need more of a weight loss/flexibility thing going on. My diet is good and all. I heard about I think it's called active fitness or something like that where you don't train like a bodybuilder, but train like you want useable strength, i.e. helping move a piano and stuff like that. Thanks, David
  22. I haven't decided yet. I hope I can find something like gung fu. There's this place-High Desert Martial arts-that teaches kick boxing, street fighting and knife fighting. I might go there.
  23. Thanks for the reply's. I forgot to mention that I have asthma. But I have it well controlled.
  24. I am going to start MA in jan. or feb. and I want to go ahead and start a streching, sit-up and push-up routine (maybe something else like weight lifting). So where do I start? How many reps etc. etc. I am 14 (Turn 15 in a month), about 6' 2'' but I don't know what my weight is. I am a little over weight though. My doctor said my diet is fine. I don't know what MA I'm gonna do yet but there isn't much around here. Hopefully something that has nothing to do with katas or forms.
