I have been studying wado-ryu for 3 years now and am greatly enjoying it. However i have a query - i recently took part in a 2 day training course with my club, which also had a tournament on the second day. At the end of the 2 days i recieved a certificate for taking part on the course. At the top of the cert. it had in big letters EWSKA or English 'Wado-Ryu Sport Karate Association' Sport Karate?? What is the difference and does this mean i have not been learning proper wado-ryu??

at my club we have a large number of belts: -white -white with red stripe -red -white with yellow stripe -yellow -white with orange stripe -orange -green -blue -purple -brown (x3) -black

Yer i had a Kata comp 2day and i came 3rd which i was pleased about I must improve though as i felt i performd poorly

I was just wondering if all wado-ryu clubs follow the same grade and belt system. For my club there are 12 kyu's and then the dans. My belt system is: white red stripe red yellow stripe yellow orange stripe orange green blue purple brown brown brown black Does every wado ryu club follow by this or is everyone different?
