Sauzin, Yeh im with you for most of it. Im a comic book fan as well. The thing i am trying to say about her sais is not about the material quality. (because her pair would most probably be plastic). Or the strength or balance etc. Im talking about the markings on the shaft. I agree with Harly when he says that they wouldn't last a real fight. Harly, I do realize that this is in deed a weapon forum. Please harly ponder this if you can handle it: Elektra is a make belive action hero character who has studied martial arts since the age of 5. Along with hand and feet training she also studied the sai. Belive it or not the sai just so happens to be a weapon. For the last 3 pages we have been discussing the sai. I just simply said that her sais are one of the nicest weapons i've seen. So i ask you...............................WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!!!! By the way it's not a crime to find Elektra's pair of Sai Beautiful, Is it? I mean is it against the law to want to have a pair like hers (minus the sharpness)? Whats wrong with likeing sais that are embossed with fancy markings. You act like it's disrespecting some all mighty SaiGod or something!!!

You think they would make a replica of the Elektra sais. Considering they have made replicas for all of the lord of the rings movies. inc: bows, arrows, swords, daggers. Not to mention the Blade and killbill movies. By the way sorry for being blunt in my last reply. It's just, way to often i see the same thing happen. Please keep your incorrect thoughts to yourself. To all who dissagree with Assassin, Everyone has different uses for the sai and everyone studys the sai for a different reason. If Assassin wishes to turn the shaft into a blade then that is again a personal preference. He didn't ask whether he should or not he asked you whether shureido were hollow or not. so in future don't critisize his reason, just answer the question. if you can't handle that then don't reply.

it is really hard to explain. but i'll give it a go it starts with a curved handle then starts with a thin blade that grows bigger untilnear the end it curves in to a point. the broadest ares of the dagger/sword is about 4 inches. With Cutlas, the blade grows bigger but instead of curving in,it renders to a point then continues a bowedblade until another point. Confussed yet??? It's a really nice sword. This one had a scabbard that was attached onto her belt. Is there any alias fans that can remember the one im talking about? Oh and, i don't really know whether to call it a sword or a big a** knife or a dagger? If it is about 17 1/2 inches or 45 cm , what do you think???[/url]

I saw in the third season of alias a sword that Sydney had and i thought it was pretty kool so i did some reasearch on it. Basicly all i can come up with is what it looks like and nothing else. If any one is familiar with this then id like to know. Alias fans: It was in 3rd season, where sydney met up with Kendal on the Jet. As they were travelling to Project Black Hole he told her everything he knows about her Dissapearence. It flickered from a third person veiw to kendal explaining it as the story went. In a third person view, Sydney aka: Julia and lazeray (excuse spelling) hiked somewhere to get the "cube". In there lazeray screws up and the cave starts to collapse. His hand got stuck in a hole on the wall so sydney pulls out this woppin great sword and cuts off his hand. That sword is the one that im talking about. Anyone know? Yeh i know it's comfusing but???

Hey, the username belt dosent stand for how experienced you are, it stands for how many posts you have participated in or something like that I have been training with the sai for many years. The best way to size a sai is measure from the top of your index finger to half an inch past your elbow joint when you hold arm with your white side up. It ranges from each person. It dosent really matter weather you get octagonal or round, its just your personal preference. I train with both and they are both ok.
