  13. thanx lots. il b doing the ankle exercise thing
  14. it rele depends on ur age. if ur over like 17, dont do taekwondo because ull rele need 2 b flexible and its hard when ur older. i think the othr 2 ma r rele diffrent so u have 2 decide. i personaly do taekwondo and im 14 and im rele good but thent cuz i started young and could already do splits and stuff.
  15. taekwondo- characterised by its fast, high, and spinning kicks. tkd is more a kicking based martial arts then any other martial art. its actually mostly about speed not power. and ur taught that with speed, comes power and power will develop by itself. in tkd, u snap your lower leg back after performing a kick, so you can kick many times and not just one time kick rele hard, because you could miss and ull get screwed. so in tkd, its beter to kik many many times and dont kik that hard, as opposed to muai that where u dont snap ur leg bak and u kik rele hard. tanx all
  16. my ankle got messed up the othr daye when i was sparring and i did a 45 degree roundhouse kick and it didnt go deep enough, so my ankle bent bakwards sorta. nothin serious, juss rele hurts. i just now took my little rubber cast thingi off. yea.. so i was wondering weather there are any exercises to make your ankles stronger so this wont happen in the future, and tell me how to do them. i also asked my grandpa since hese like a rele good doctor and hese like " just wait till it heals and it will become even stronger then b4". so basically wut hese sayin is da more u damage a bone the stronger it gets?? can any one clarify this?? and also the exercise thing.(pleaseopleaeoplease) im 14 years old just in case dat makes a diffrence.
  17. okay, i have been doing WTF taekwondo for four years and i personally think im really good. i can do splits, jump pretty high, kick really fast and so on and so forth... the only things that i cant do in taekwondo are 540 degree kicks or higher degree. for example, i really want to be able to do a 540 degree roundhouse/crescent kick. these kick are really cool and i want to do them. Can anyone pleaese tell me an exercise for doing a 540 roundhoue/crescent. and also, im pretty sure it isnt that im not fast enogh strong enough or flexible enough. i think im just really missing something impirtant like your position or something. i would appreciate it if someone here rels me how they learned and how long it took them to see weather im just not ready yet. i mean did it come the first time u tried because u were really good, or did you practice drills or w/e. thanx 4 reading
  18. nevermind, Im 14 right now, so I started at around 5. or whatever, I suck at math
  19. got my 2nd degree black belt after 8.5 years. started at about 3 yrs old.
  20. Amen! I hate sparring people who know enough to hurt somebody but not enough to control themselves. It makes me just want to...axe kick the top of their head repeatedly, which is generally what I do. My instructor always tells me, as sort of an ironic twist to the other comment made, is that I am allowed to hit back as hard as I am hit. If I am trying to play nice with a lower rank, and they insist on attempting to prove themselves, I have the right to kick their sorry little butt. In regards to beating the kick...which I believe is what this whole thing is about... As a Kenpo artist, I do not find many high kickers in the studio where I train/teach. However, the majority of tournaments I go to are TKD, because that's what's around here. As a 6' 5" skinny guy with legs that are longer than most people's entire body, I love kicking. But, in the case that I come up against a TKD BB that can hold their own with kicking (and there are many) I have one word for you...hands. If TKD has a weakness (and don't get me wrong, I love the style), it's their hand strikes. Get inside those kicks with a fake, a circle, or a good block, and just open up with your hands. The hardest part: staying in. Once you get in range for hands, stay there! Don't back off an inch, or you'll take a 'boot to the head' (I LOVE MONTY PYTHON, DON'T YOU?). dude, a good tae kwon doer wont even let you get close to him/her if you try to use your hands
  21. how can he do that when the push kick is a counter and hese the one whose attacking-an attack worth doing will let your guard down(if its powerful). he cant concetrate on defence when hese attacking. Just dont ever make the first move. Im a 2nd degree black belt and when people attack I just do a spinning bak kick to the face and ive won the mach
  22. dont move in at all only backwards or stay whare you are, because I love sparring with people like you I wait for them to make the first move, then bam! the second they come in theire on the ground because of my superior side kick to the chest.
  23. moon vs nick, tkd olympics, athens
  24. I meant sparring at the olpympics
  25. I totally agree, watch tkd instead
