  8. oh yea, and footwork ,like whats the step and slide, the quick advance, the push shuffle.
  9. omg, i have to move to this twon with no martial arts areas anywhere,(but only for a semester), and i just want to know how i can work on some things on my own. -balance(actually i didnt know how to work on my balance in the first place) -speed -counter attacking -blocks and parrys -footwork thats what i can think of right now.well please, o great martial artist of these forums, u guys MUST know how to do it alone.
  10. k i just want to know the meaning of some moves. -straightlead -finger jab -jao sau -shovel hook -half knukle -knife hand(when and wher eon the body to use it) -hammer fist -palm strike -overhand left cork-screw hook -hook kick -inverted hook -intercepting kick -oblique kick
  11. k, my problem is that i want to change my martial art to something more desireable like shotokan or taekwon-do or wing chung. i take muay thai, its amazing if you want to get in shape or fight a war, but thats all it offers me, i WOULD move to another martial art but when i try to,reality hits me in the face, thai boxing gives me great techniques for self defence(my school is realy screwy) and i cant move to something that takes a long while to get the swing of,and reading some posts here i would say the ma's i mentioned are not very well suited for real life situations(but i guess only pppl that dont take the art critisize it). i dunno what to do, i really want to try somthing new . what should i do
  12. "pot", int addictive. actually at my high school, weed is as common as taking a drink of water.most people show up to class high, my freind kim, always showed up to class high, and did alll her work, butif she wasnt high, she would just listen to music. SHE GOT A 89%,i got forty.............(marijuana isnt like cocaine or anything else,to me, i rather smoke weed than smoke a cigarette.)
  13. i want to know how i can defeat the fear of losing, without it i can really progress.
  14. i wanted to know about knpo karate, and how you rate this style.
  15. k, when i read the threads on this website about taekwon do, i only see people talking about how its not good in a street fight and how fancy it is. now i wanna hear about itf taekwon-do from ppl that actually take it.
  16. radock<---- why not jun?, his moves are the most beleivable to me(without the thunder hands) he seems pretty strong, i could see a real person doing that. p.s so whowarangs moves cant be done?, by a top taekwondoist prehaps?
  17. IF u put in practice and alot of it and i mean alo t of it, do u think you can be as good as hwoarang from tekken 3?( im not gonna try it ue to obvious reasons)
  18. i wanted to know if anyone here uses their stance in real life situations. and if u do, i wanted to know which stance is the best to use
  19. wel, i wanted to know about tae kwon do ass., hwo do they teach differently and which methods, im lookin for the on opposite to the ass. that teach only for sport.
  20. so do you do shotokan or kempo?. k lets say a shotokan man that been takin it for 22 years, and a thai boxer, with the same two yrs. who would win in a full contact match im not trying to compare the two or see which one is better, but im saying would a shotokan man, would have developed enough in to years to hold their own against a fighting style like muay thai?.(thai kiks are brrrutal)
  21. k so, when you said its more like one shot one kill, does shotokan have combos, like say in a full contact match. in a class, do they teach you certain combos or you have to make you own combos through sparring. p.s what does 5 step and 3 step sparring mean.
  22. well, i kept telling myself that im going to move from muay thai to another martial art. not that muay thai is bad, it just focuses to much on breaking someones bones so to speak, rather than anything else. i love doing the ram muay. but i need different things to do....well anyways, theres this impressive lookin shotokan school up my street. and i just wanted to ask a couple of questions about shotokan karate. -does it teach more than jusst learning how to fight? -does it teach enough about self-defense -how long did it take you to be confident in your techniques?(toward shotokan practioners) -REALLY,REALLY,REALLY,stupid question but have u ever seen street fighter alpha the cartoon or played the video game(i know...i know.) well ken and ryu, thats not really shotokan is it(not the part with the crazy fireballs and jumping 3 ,eters in the air).but their stance and basics -and finally im 15, im i too old? thanx.
  23. can you guys tell me what do you use more in a fight, your legs or hands, or is it even?.or does it depend on the karate style p.s (DOES ANYONE KNW ANY KYOKUSHIN SCHOOLS IN TORONTO). THNX
  24. i finally made a choice, and instead of muay thai(which is borrring)<(not that its not good)im going to take tae-kwon do. but a more combat oriented taekwon-do, but the thing is, i seen the stance, with the hops, and im more of a dancer, i wanted to know if its right to try to change the stance to my liking, or should i take it the way its served. and which orginization teaches more combat oriented, (point sparring is bush). thanx
  25. i wante dto know what you guys think of these two styles as a means of self defense.
