Ok, i was wanting to know if it was physically possible to be flexible enough to (while standing) lift one leg basically parallel to your body and keep your foot flat. What i mean is...if anyone ever watched Ranma (no flames, no flames...i know most of the stuff is totally fake) then in on part he lifted his leg straight up like i was describing and then balanced a plate on his foot sincei t was flat. i was sitting here thinking about it and it's been bugging me weither or not that was physically possible. thanks

Hey, i was wondering if there are any books that someone could suggest that teaches you martial arts. (videos to). wooo...now, calm down. put the lighter and gasoline away and hold off on flaming unti lyou finish reading. I am interested in martial arts (have yet to choose exactly which i will by doing) and i'm wanting to get started. Now, due to a recent experience with a Kenpo school, i'm wary of schools in my area. Non of them teach martial arts in a...how could i put it....correct way. Sparring was non existent in that school i went to and minimal in others. Ok...so maybe they want to deal with the mind side of it instead? nope. no meditation or anything like that. All it was is stand up, they show you a few moves and you practice those few moves over and over and over. Do they ever get put into practical use? Nope. no combos or anything. So, i am now on a quest to teach myself until i can find a school good enough worth going to. I figure i might not be able to teach the moves as easily as a teacher could but i know i'll be able to teach the patients and mind side better then anyone else around my area. So, i'm just wondering if there are any good books or videos that could help me do this. thank you....and now, if you still feel the need..........LET IT BURN

i have abody bag that i love. i have a really good punch but i would like to develope it more and get stamina up (and possibly gain larger muscles). inorder to do this,i knbow i have to lift wiehgt ubt how should i use my bag. one bodybuilder/boxer said that he would do 3 5 min. rounds on it. what does he probably mean by that? sopme thing like *punch* 1 second *punch* 2 seconds *punch* 3 secounds or *punch punch punch* 1...2... *punch punch punch* 3....4....*punch punch punch* or just does he mean going at it fully (which would be crazy hard) *punch punch punch punch punch punch punch punch punch punch punch * any thoughts?

has anyone triend the supplement Xyience XFB AM? its supposed to give you energy but also suppose to really help you loose weight. i'm in the process of loosing weight right now and i'm getting pretty good and think that a kick like this will make me have 6 packs by summer. i want to trust it because it sponsors UFC and i herd some of the fighters use it but i want to make sure ($40). also, i heard it has 120 tablets, how long will that last? but anyways, has anyone tried it? i don't really care abotu the energy thing and the decrese in appitite would be nice but i'm really wanting to know if it will help loose the weight faster (i know, i still have to work out. i run everyday). so, anyone have any comments? thanks alot

ok, i'm trying to get 'ripped'. i have good strength and all and pretty good size but now i just want to get like a rock. so, i heard that a real good way to get solid in your chest is to go to steps and like gte into push up postion with your feet on the floor and your arms on the steps so you can do them easily. then i heard you do like 120 until your arms are dead and ten you rest for 30 mins (thats when the fat burns i was told) and then do it again. is this true or should i just stick to benching?

ok...i work out, well i try for everyday. i do arms upper body one day, lower the next. abs everday and cardio everyday. my routine for upper body is benching- 70 lbs 15 wide grip, 15 close, 15 wide, 15 close curling- back aginst the wall. both arms curling 40 20 times, then 10 more pull down (sit on my bench, grab the double handle and pull it down....its part of the bench) 3 reps of 20 or more then someitmes little misc. things lower body squats and leg lifts mainly. i don't work them to hard cause i do cardio every day and that works my legs. cardio i was doing 30 mins on the bike but now i switched to running (got a tred mill.....woot) and i haven't exactly picked a routine for running yet....what a good one for a beginer runner for loosing weight? anyways, i was wanting to know an estimate for how long until i get solid. mianly no gut. 'm 5'8 1/2" and 165lbs. i'm kinda fit but i do have a gut, not a huge one though. i know you can't give me exact cause 1) you don't know what i look like 2) don't know body fat composition 3) everyone is different but can anyone give me an estimate? 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, one year? (year's a little extreme but you get the idea ) also, i'm doing this for Karate so if anyone wants to mkae any changes from my routine that will make me more solid (i have enough size, i just want to get solid and ripped) then it will be appreciated. thanks

like he said, the master believed it was actualyl energy in you. you'll hear about some people who do somthing called *can't remember* akido i think it is and they actually think that they can harness the "chi" and shoot it, dragon ball z style. make shields, energy blasts and the like. its funny to read but i think its pretty stupid cause no one can do this.

i agree with someone up above that said for you to take interest in his stuff. make it seem like his TKD is far more important and cooler then you style. whats probably happened is he wants to be jut like his dad and he thinks that maybe since you don't do TKD, that its not good or cool enough. make him think other wise. make a big deal out of simple moves that he does and try to get him to "teach" you the moves to. saying that you'd like to learn it. hope this helps.

i would say start off with gloves/wrapping first. it conditioned my wrists real quickly so know i can punch the bag as hard as i can and it doesn't hurt. also, hitting a bag is alot different then hitting a human. alot of human areas are soft and, the main thing, humans stand. when you hit your bag hard you will notice, if hit in the middle, the bottom will swing out, then the top, and repeated real fast. if you hit the top then it swings wildly. when you punch a human, it feels like more of a conection and your hits actually do more damage. trust me, the bag will deffinitly give you power
