  1. Isshinryu Upper body basic #14 is a move consisting of that block followed by 2 roundhouse strikes. I watched Karate Kid II a couple of months ago and said "hey look, it's #14.." during that scene. and when Daniel asked Mr. Miyagi if there was a counterstrike I just laughed.
  2. just as long as they don't mention the name George Dillman....but I think we've had this discussion before
  3. lol
  4. not nearly as much as I should. My dojo is on a military base and shares it's space with the rest of the base. So it gets whored out for confrences, retirement ceremonies, commissioning ceremonies, you name it. We're only alloted 2 three hour sessions a week. Aside from that, I try to fit it in whenever I can.
  5. I like Seiuchin a lot...I think I like Naihanchi the least.
  6. I think it is his own system, but I'm not 100% sure.
  7. My Bro-in-Law runs a dojo that features JJ, RyuKyu Kempo, and Modern Arnis. Sounds like some George Dillman stuff....I'm a little leary about some of the stuff Dillman teaches...."touchless knockouts" and stuff like that. I'll believe it when I experience it.
  8. They way we do a crane stance is kinda like an inverted T-stance. The rear knee is in the pocket of the front knee. The forward foot's toes are pointing outward(horizontally), and the ball of the rear foot is touching the ground. Now that I think about it......our crane stance is almost EXACTLY like an inverted T......
