Difference in Korea and The US
Carnage replied to Carnage's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Yea, what's MCDojang mean? Anyway, i know they exist, but i would feel bad if i left my school. But trust me Korea is better than some of the best schools, trust me. -
Good ol' poomse is fun. My school is a mix of traditonal and sparring but when i went to Korea it was all sparring. Also when i train at home it is sparring.

Alright on sunday I have a tournament(it's now wednesday). On saturday I trained pretty hard at my school's weekend camp they have twice a year. Now my quads are still soar. It was bad sunday but i still had a sparring match. Monday i rested completely, tuesday i did a litte poomse(forms). Today i did jumprope, steps, and kicking. My legs are much better but i still do feel them. Tonight i will take a hot bath, but i hope they are good for sunday. Any adivce on how to get them not soar?

Lol, olympic tkd style does not mean you nessacrily train for the olympics. It just means you train Olympic style, certaind drills, a lot focusing on sparring.

Yea I personally train at a US dojang, it isn't the hardest but we hjave great masters. I just feel like you can't potentially get as much training here. -
2 hours a day overtraining? want your opinion......
Carnage replied to Croy's topic in Health and Fitness
Alright when i lived in Korea this summer my training was 8 hours a day! 6-7(morning running/sprints) 10-12(speed drills) 3-6(sparring) 7-9(kicking drills) I know it is hard with lifestyle to train like that, but that is the way to go. -

Good article..... Speed is Power, that's my opinion on it. -
how do you count to 10 in korean
Carnage replied to jctkd's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
I have the sudden urge to curse people out in Korean.....just kidding. Yup eveyrone one has it down(ill type it how it is pronounced not spelling) hona dul set net dasat yasat elgop yudul ohop yul -
Yea I agree but I am going to be a little more harsh. No doubt XMA is cool, flips and stuff that is impressive, but it all means nothing. It doesn't prove that you can fight, have a sparring match. I watched it on Discovery and it was guys swinging weapons around. They have to know the exact placement of weapons and the pin points of a swing. Not just up down, fast, looks like type ish.

Best brand of sparring gear?
Carnage replied to sickwithit13's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
I use addidas, it is just my style. I personally think it is the best out there. -
This past summer I trained in Korea for 4 weeks. It has basically given me a whole new look on US tkd. One I notice how watered down tkd in The US really is. They train 8 hrs a day year round, it is an intense lifestyle. Also when team train sparring they don't wear dobuks and stuff they just have tees and tkd pants. It is less about business there. So everyone if you want the best tkd training go to korea.
