Hm...Be very careful when fighting against a wrestler or immataor. If u havent had any experience in wrestling you could be in for it if they get in close on you and get ahold of you. Use the jab or roundhouse kick. (long weapons). Wrestlers usually have a lower stance so it might not be smart to use low kicks because they could grab the easily and swoop you up. My advice would be to get in and get out.

The power of intimidation
LiTtLeDrAgOn replied to MizuRyu's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Haha....Nah, yelling and doing Kahaps doesnt effect me at all. I dont even really pay attention to it when I spar. I mean, when I watch others spar I can hear it but, when Im fighting it different. The only thing that would even intimadate me is a fighter that doesnt show off and is calm. Someone who shows off and prances around and talks alot is the kinda person everyone wants to beat up. -

The best kick for self defense
LiTtLeDrAgOn replied to bushido_man96's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Um, me personally I would kick if It were self defense...Just because I love to kick and Im good at it. My hands are decent but, Im comfortable kicking. So, if you are good at kicking than kick....if not than dont kick. But, its self defense for christ sake so do what you gotta do to protect yourself (The low shin kick is good too!!!) -
Create angles...If your quick try moving to the side if your oppent is coming straight at you and then that should leave some room for kicking. But, you'd have to time it correctly. (Thats the only thing I can think of)

Yea, tha's pretty stupid that you have to pay for the online thing. I really want to expand my mauy thai training and learn more but, no one really knows any around here. I live in a really small town. It sucks because, people tell me I have the potential to excel in all areas of Martial Arts but, I just cant find any schools close enough.

Yea....I wish I would of started earlier with martial arts, I played around with it when I was about 12-13 but, any age is good to start!! The younger the better!! There are kids in the junior class that are 8 and 9 years old...Some 11 year olds are green and brown belts already. Again, the younger the better in my opinon. I started when I was 15 and am 17 now. So I guess Im still beginning and I just got my green belt in Bojokaru

How to train reflexes
LiTtLeDrAgOn replied to ShotokanKid's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I just wear hand and ankle weights. Run a little bit to get tired....and, have a partner throw different combinations of kicks and punches. But, dont fight back just try to time there moves out and evade there kicks and punches.. It helps me....but, if anyone has a better way to do it. Please post. -

Um, I dont know if anyone answer'd this question yet and I dont know where to go 2 find it...so I just put it in here......(I heard that Bruce Lee, when he exercised, would lift wieghts until he couldnt lift anymore....and then some more)....I have done this and it makes me sore the next day. My question is "How often (If I lift wieghts and work-out MAX) should I do it?" Can anyone give me any "Weight Lifting" plans and stretches I can do?..Thanks!

Hey.......Thanks 47MartialMan, I have now found an instructor and he teaches a variety of styles, (2day he taught us some "Boxing 12" technique, and then he was teaching us "Kata's" something about Basic From 1...Nieche Kata Ouchu...Or something like that, lol. ) Thanks for helping me again, I was wondering though...Do u recomend I take any certian style to start off with? Or should I just stick with the stuff I am taking right now, (I really dont know wat he teaches, but I think he teaches a little of everything so his students wont feel limited to just one style) Thanks.

LiTtLeDrAgOn, you have much contradiction on your words: Quote: In that case, (If he does get even angrier) than he is blind and his punches, kicks, ect are not going to be accurate and efficent. So you saying of the above when the opponent is out-of-control. To soldify yourself in maintaining control you write: Quote: I could have it out for someone really bad but if I lose thought and control than Im gonna get demolished in the end... But then, contradictory to both of your above, you write: Quote: Killer Instinct.....Instinctively doing something....On impulse. It's basically when I get in a fight and I see blood, It get's me hype and I wanna just lose control and go out there and tear that person apart. As soon as I see it my "Killer Instinct" is turned on. Further you contradict yourself in one line as follows: Quote: Does that mean he is gonna beat me into the ground????? I dont think so...There is always possibility. LiTtLeDrAgOn, you read too much then recite it as garbage. Go and find a mentor with vast patience. I have had many students that were like you in the very beginning. Proper-personal training and knowledge from a experience mentor/teacher, will instill maturity and wisdom. I will say it again, LiTtLeDrAgOn reminds me of someone.... Thanks...47MartialMan....U are truely very wise. I appreciate u helping me out. (Where are u from?)

Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can actually train in a martial art, or you can play "karate kid" and try to learn from books and video. While it's possible you will actually learn to be effective with the latter method, I highly doubt that you will. Fighting without a strategy isn't too bright. When Lee talked about fighting without thinking, he didn't mean to fight like a moron. You have to train and train until you can do things without paying much attention to them. For example, when you first learned how to draw letters, you had to pay attention to each letter and the strokes. Now that you have much practice (training) on drawing letters, you can do it without really thinking about it, that doesn't mean you write sentences without thinking though. Do you follow? Yea....I see, Thanx!... Killer Instinct.....Instinctively doing something....On impulse. It's basically when I get in a fight and I see blood, It get's me hype and I wanna just lose control and go out there and tear that person apart. As soon as I see it my "Killer Instinct" is turned on. Its the innate aspect of behavior that is unlearned, complex, and normally adaptive. A powerful motivation or impulse...Impelled from within.
