  1. Thats what I'm talking about right there...congratulations usc. I know you are proud. You make us all proud as well
  2. Let us know how it all goes Thomas, we're rootin for you
  3. Thanks for the input guys, I'll still look into the boxing. I just think there are more pros than cons associated with it, for what I want to do at least.
  4. I was also looking at regular boxing - my only main concern (and yes it may sound wussy) is the head injury thing. I see alot of pro boxers coming out of the game not being able to talk right or walk straight. Is that a concern of any of you guys who box? Or maybe its just for the pros
  5. I've just started looking into thai boxing as there is a place nearby that does this. I was just curious because I'm a big guy (6'1 230lbs) and was wondering if MT would be unsuitable for my build
  6. Is kickboxing an actual martial art? I was looking around for information on it and all I saw was "cardio kickboxing" Can anyone enlighten me?
  7. Yeah this is my roomate actually folks lol I told him to get his butt on the forum because of all you cool people. He practices Tang Soo Do, hence the name in case no one caught on (play on words of pseudonym). Anyways, we go to the university of md and im doing the goju ryu karate thing and he is dabbling in aikido at the moment and we are both doing fencing which of course isnt a MA (i dont think). Hopefully we will check out Master Jules up in NY next month.
  8. Just get rested and make sure you dont do anything stupid before your body heals itself. In the meantime, why not get your mental game up to speed. Read Tao of Jeet Kune Do or another 'principles' related martial art book. Go through kata in your head or set up scenarios to spar yourself with. Things I would do, hope you get well soon
  9. Of course you dont have anything to worry about! There is no point in worrying about the inevitable lol - just look around the place for any shiny objects before you get on the mat Have fun and let us know how it goes!
  10. Welcome to the forum as well as to Goju Ryu karate! I have just recently started Goju as well and I must say I love it. I for one am easy to get annoyed from not getting the moves down and I'm working on it. Tomorrow night is class. Enjoy!
  11. If there is any way possible Jules you should DEFINITELY open up another dojo!!! My biggest regret is that I didnt stick with karate for those first few months because I got intimdated and upset with myself and performance as a beginner. But now...its on like popcorn!
  12. Cool! superdre00@hotmail.com for me[/url]
  13. THose four questions are written down now and posted on the door to my room. THANKS AnonymousOne...wow that was pretty profound and applicable. If this is something I really want to do, why be wishy washy about it. Above and beyond whats expected is where satisfaction truely lies.
