  1. pick out the best of the worst; use your dojo training as a foundation and supplement your advancement with training on your own based upon things you learn from books,videos and friends. FOCUS on the basics. any training is better than no training!
  2. try walking for about 3 miles at a brisk pace;i'm serious; i found that walking as a supplement to my karate helps work out the soreness in my muscles, dosen't dip into my recovery reserves, and leaves me with more mental and physical energy for my actual karate training!!!
  3. I am considering buying the Muzila shotokan video series as sold in Black Belt magazine. Tom Muzila is a hard corp shotokan karate-ka with the SKA organization. I would appreciate any feedback on the value of these particuliar videos before i spend the $150; thanks, Brian
