  1. Mine would have to be folding fans . Or sias.
  2. Well, Stomping in Alabama is illeagle - attempted murder. I forget who said it but, in America the bigger guy dose not back down. Goes to show there intelligence. Me being 5'5 weighing about 100lbs, having a quick tounge, not really a quick tounge just I don't like to see some one especialy a girl getting beat up on. So, Yeah I get into alot of "fights". Normaly though I can work around it. I really hate street fights, everyone on the street knows the style, " Juno... Ju-no know what I got in my pocket!" That is my biggest concern, Fist fighting I easy to deal with. I will go through both now. ( forgive my awful spelling and speach it is 4:12 am I have not slept. Fist fighting: They decide they want a fight. "Come on let's fight" Me: Nah man I am good I like my face in one piece. "Oh come on you are the karate dude right? " Me: Man, you would mop the floor with me *distressed look* "Chicken FIGHT ME!" Me: Fine. *lowers head gets up* Okay. But first. Do you have any idea how bad you look? 1) you look like a bully if you win 2) If I win you get beat by a wimp 3) The girls here are going to feel bad for me So I will be leaving with your girlfriend- he should throw punch now if not continue- So, do you really want to fight? Normaly if you can get that all out they will change there minds. If they throw a punch. You have them in rage. When you go in rage you stop thinking so everything will be going into that one punch and it will be sloppy. You Side step, then when they come down with there punch jump up into there solar plexus ( or stomach ) striking with a knee, at the same time come down with an elbow on there back, and jump away. That should end it completly. Fist fight ( Omgosh I am going to die ): The guy approches. You widen and focus your eyes hard on his. start to twitch your hands. right when he on the distance line- side note: most guys think they are immortal specaily the big ones so they will often say, " Wha!" and throw there arms out for some reason. well there gaurd is shot. - Right when they step on it, You step in punch directly to the nose. They can't see they can't fight. Knife fight. I think I don't really care to know: There are three main attacker types. Swavey - Initiate conversation with a grin. Often you can read by gut feeling something bad is going to happen. Last resort - These are guys that are going through a rough time in there life and mean no harm they are just trying to stay afloat in life. They won't look you in the eye and often have a softer voice, and a loose grip on the knife Murderer - These guys make eye contact won't break it and is quite visible they have no emotion. Swavey attack: When they start to talk, talk back and when they let off a sighing laugh QUICKLY throw one armdown from there chest to block there arms and back hand with the other hand to cause the eyes to water, then continue it from there though most likely they want to be very far away from you at that moment . Last resort: Talk to them, if they start to get restless, rooster neck the wrist, in turn makes them drop the knife. From there talk to them they will listen. If not and you know they won't from the roosterneck work your way behind them and choke them out. Murderer - The guys that give me chills. You can feel them before you see them. If on the street and you feel it look around till you spot what is causing the upset, when you find him. Put people between you and him. And ask him questions, " May I help you? ", " What do you want? " Normal people will pause and register the question. If he dose not his intent is to kill you. in which case I sugges a 45. an extendible baton, a police officer, Or! The untested method. Walk up on him. My theory is that will make them pause. Murderers/muggers very often pick the nervous one out of the bunch to attack. When speaking with him don't let your voice jitter. It shows you are fearful and gives him more moral, Anyways the theory. Walk up on him and yell at him. He will pause and register, " Is the guy a freaking loon, I have a knife and he is walking up on me. Yelling at me?!" WHEN THAT happens one hand grabs the guys wrist with the knife, and the other hand goes of course.. To the nose. He should drop the knife. Kick the knife away and continue your attack yelling for help. I have personally seen the walk up approach work. There was a pause in the man. But that is only one case I have seen it in. When a guy had my mother backed into a corner at the old school, our instructor walked up on the guy. Now as for my yelling part I added. That is just for the added psychological effects on the attacker. I will try to rewrite this tomarrow when all of my brain cells or working properly..
  3. Ack! I was afraid of that , I am trying to figure out a way where I don't have to show my legs, That sounds really stupid to say. But would the kung fu pants be adiquet atire? One of my friends who takes tummbling has told me what ever I can move in best, which would be those and a tank top. And can anyone give me a few dynamic stretches for back bends? I will be going into a class full of, " This is not a guys sport this is for girls! " and I don't want to look to stupid to all of it lol. I can kip but that is about as far as tricks go, Well. I can do a very poor Axe2arieal which is kind of cool, though the areal looks more like a butterfly kick . And I can do chinanease splits. But are there any other tricks that would be fairly easy to learn? Or any streching you suggest?
  4. Well, eleven years in the martial arts I have stayed pretty much a forms competitor when I would compete in forms, and I had thought about entering a tourniment next time I could catch one in my area. I was watching some clips of wushu and was really blown away, I have noticed in the forms competition there are also alot of pretty tricks added to it, I guess for flavor?. But my point being is I am holding off and starting gymnastics soon, I have had a problem with me coming off the ground for quite some time now and I am going to break it. I really don't know where to ask this but I am hoping one of you mite know. Starting gymnastics would a pair of black kungfu pants, black muscle shirt and high Tabi boots work for gymnastics? What shoes would you suggest? And what should I work on prior to entering a gym?
  5. I have been thinking and meditating for a few months now on Chi and Ki, the eternal energy. Looking at it from Aikido's stand point. And I finally got it at around three am, I was lieing down, and a torso popped into my head on a black background, the torso was white with a blue ball in the center, Which resembled my medition for Telekineses. I cannot even spell the word if that tells you how far I had gotten . But yes, the image popped into my head then the arm extended and the chi flowed up the side of the body and out of the arm's finger tips. I quickly went to find my brother, and told him to bend my arm. He tryed with much effort but to no avail and he lifts two hundred pounds. The only thing he accomplished was to push me over. I had a feeling early yesterday that I had found it when one of my friends and students tried picking me up again. I was in focus, and he came up trying to lift me and could not budge me, I would have thought nothing of it except he had been doing it all day, I am roughly 5'5 95lbs, and he is 6'5 300lbs. Him and my other student and friend both looked as though they had saw a ghost, and I was as startled as they were, I had thought it was senceless going into it. But I have found the error of my ways. Kung fu was designed by the little guy he had to match the big guy some how and the chi focus was it? I am really intrested in Chi/Ki at this point and would like to learn all that I can, are there any web refferances or if there is not, any books on the subject that you would recomend reading? I am also a magician, and this threw me. It feels amazing!
  6. They have to catch me first, and chances are I will still win. I am very cocky lol, Never realised that before, but yeah no worries I can handle myself when it comes to them ( I have before ) But thanks for the warning.
  7. My style for health purpose is Mantis Boxing, I am working strongly on Seven Star. As for when it comes down to it outside in the real world. I will incorperate what I have been taught if I feel it is right. I.E. I would not try to use the sticky hands combonations in a real world fight for the reasons they themselves may not have been taught how to block and punch. So, you may try it but realise they just countered it in its entirty and you would then be on the ground in a bad spot to be in unless you have taken grappling. My brother who is in the Military dose what Bruce lee had done, takes what is practicle and discards the nonsence. He fights for combative purpose, dose not care to much on form. He has been teaching me for close to eight years, and I have read many books on many arts. And I feel very confident in my ablities to protect myself in a life or death situation. I have awareness drills very often. As for learning how to fight, I do the oppisite of what the style says not to hit. Which I understand could kill the opponent, and I won't fight unless my life is in danger. Because I feel no need to prove myself to anyone. So, I guess I am straddeling the fence? I am an artist/ showsmen And artist/ Combatant
  8. I am quite happy with my hieght, I am 14 and I am 5'6". I am not to terribly tall, But I can hang with the big boys, and Often win. I don't see the big deal with being tall or short. Sure, if you are short girls will turn you down in your teen years, but that will change. Beleive me I am already seeing the change, and it is about time. Would I want to be any taller? Maybe 5'8", but I don't want six foot. Some of you are probably asking, " WELL WHY NOT! "... I have been asked that by several people. And to me it is a bit controversial so I will not go into it on detail, but I have been doing research for three years on the dynamics, and physics of fighting and discovered the little guy has a rather large edge. Now as for reaching the top shelf. We are all martial artist here, We had to have done a jump side kick or nightmare or butterfly kick at some point! Wich requires Jumping. So jump for the top shelf, No problems. And as for concerts, again we are martial artist... AKA Jack be nimble Jack be quick, Go through to the front. Mosh pits are full of people getting nailed in the face and getting hit from all sides, Just go in and have a bar fight, Dunk n Dodge under peoples legs if you have too. Which I have done in a basketball game before ( Complete accident lost my footing went sliding under the guy's legs and lost the ball. ) But going over the postives of being short and tall. Tall * Reach top shelfs. * Get dates as teenagers * Get respect as a teenager * Get mistaken for being older * Dunk on a 10 foot goal * Better views at concerts Small * Get a work out reaching to the top shelf * Get a girl who is going to see you for who you are ( instead of likeing hieght first ) * Get snubbed as a teenager ( I actually enjoy this ) * Get underestimated as a teenager ( another one I enjoy dearly) * Better balance because we the short folk are closer to the ground * Can sneak around easier So, it actually balances out you just have to comprehend you are not like them you are you, you have to adjust to who you are and be comftorable with who you are. Confidence is all you truly need to succeed.
  9. I started thinking about that, The weight trying to over extend. So, I will scratch that idea of my list. Thanks guys!
  10. Over all endurance, I hate getting winded in fights.
  11. Often times in a normal fight outside of a gym or in a gym, there is the problem of kicking over your head you throw off your balance, you only maintane your balance when you kick waist or risky at chest level. Now if you enter a form tournyment, then you will be expected to preform high kicks with grace. And to do that you must stretch. But in a real fight you don't want to do that to often, the other bad thing about that is you will open your knee up for brutal damage. So, I would not suggest it niether.
  12. Okay, This is going to sound funny at first, and alot of you may still think it is funny after reading this, but I need a bit of help developing the proper way of making it, and who better then the other Martial artist? I have been doing alot of research on weight training and the Martial arts, Some say that you should bulk up and get big. Where as others would say you do not want to do that. I am going with choice B: I don't want to do that. Because I have seen the results of weight training and martial artist, I have seen sevral fights lost because one of the two were muscle bound. And besides you can lift small and still build strength, the only thing you will really accomplish is getting bigger if you lift bigger weights, where as with smaller weights you "Cut" better, and also you will gain strength. But to continue. The idea I had popped into my mind when I was watch Mortal Kombat: Annialation, and the Sub-Zero uniform Kieth Cooke wore triggered something. And I started thinking about it and realized it could be possible. The Vest the gloves and the shin gaurds all caught my eye. My idea is that the vest you could turn into a weighted vest (20lbs for me) The gloves you could put weights on, and the shin gaurds also. So you would have Cardio Vascular with the vest, which will lead to better cut abs. The gloves would have to be altered to have the weight evenly perportioned where as instead of the blue being on the back of the glove it wraps all around the wrist not just on top to reduce sliding. But the gloves would be 5lbs, and evertime you chamber for a punch, you are curling, and everytime you block you are most likely to do a side lateral lift, or front lift to work on your shoulders, and chest. The shin gaurds would have to be altered as the gloves were. And they would contain 5lbs, Everytime you step you are having to contract the muscle, and evertime you kick you are having to lift the weights. So you get an over all cardio vascular workout, a cutting workout built into your Form, and you will also increase your speed if you train with the gear on. the weight would go into the color portions of the vest gloves and shin gaurds. Now anyone care to tell me I am nuts, or questions that would help me further this idea? Or anyone who cares to help design it, Or if there is a health risk to this ( on joints ) please tell me.
  13. Hehe I know what you mean about it being useless, But in form it looks pretty cool, and I have been on the combat side long enough I feel I have earned the right to get flashy every once in awhile hehe
  14. I have also been expieriencing knee pains, Especialy noticeable when I have to bend low in a form ( Circle Entering Stance ) And when I attempt a butterfly/540 cresent kick ( which is not coming along so well any tips would be much appreciated )
  15. Just curious about my workout routine it is 7 days aweek. I am fourteen and I know exactly what some of you are talking about, " Kids only talk about form, ect. " Two people I am teaching are like that except there view is, " Why break a sweat I have seen you do it, why do I have to do it to the best of my abilties here when I have no reason too! " Anyways my routine seven days aweek, I am really small I am 5'6 110lbs. So, I can't lift to much.
