White Belt

White Belt (1/10)

  1. In San Diego the Judo Nationals was not to long ago. Anywayz there was a woman who was blind competing. Being the nationals and all I was totaly impressed!
  2. White if your looking for points! Black if your looking to get a few in before they see it! Color if your looking to look pretty (like me! haha)
  3. Did anybody goto DragonFest 2004? (I don't know...........kinda ) I drove 122miles and waited in the cold for a hour. I am now in the door and ready to get excited! The first "star" I see is "BJ" from BJ and the Bear. Ok.........I was a kid that saw that show, what the hey I will ask for him to sign something. (kinda a goal for me was to dork out and ask for stuff like that) To my dismay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This fool wants $20 freaking dollers! The only thing I did get (because it was free) was the dude that played Sub-Zero, and Ali E (kinda the new Polly Shore). All in All it was ok. The half year I waited and 2hr drive may of helped my feelings.
  4. I have the movie now. Thanks Ebay! This movie is a edge of you seat action movie. I do have a english subtitle version. If you only can get the Thai version..that's ok, your not missing much. That said............... This guy knows what he is doing!!!!!!!!!! You almost feel your own head being smashed in by his deadly knee & elbows strikes watching this movie. White men may not be able to jump but Thai men sure can! (yes, that was a lame joke) I smell the new Jackie.
  5. Jump rope 10min = 30min jogging + your foot work and speed is increasing for what you are training for.
  6. I liked it. I was funny! The end is kinda weak.
  7. Ok, I just started a M.A. DVD collection. This is my first order with the "club". 1) The Transporter 2) The One 3) Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 4) The Legend Of Drunken Master 5) Kiss of the Dragon 6) Enter The Dragon 25Th Edition What is the "must have" to add????????? I plan on adding Blade 1 & 2 so I pretty open.
  8. I have seen clips of it too. (I just ordered it off ebay... ) From what I have seen the stunts a AMAZING! No wires, etc....... Just one crazy man.
  9. lay on your stomach with your arms forward and your legs strait. (like super man) lift your chest and legs off the ground as high as you can go and hold for like 10 seconds and drop. repeat. work your back. If you throw it out you will be laid out for like a month.
  10. By the way.... I did let my teacher know I was hurt. He told me not to do any ground work, slap out, etc and take it easy for about 4 to 5 weeks. I told him how I got hurt and left in as that.
  11. The wierd thing is that after I got hit......... I kinda jumped back, did a few small 1in jumps, laughed a little and said something like "wow you got me good dude...ha ha" (yes, I live on the west coast) You know.......the school yard punch in the arm by a friend reaction. Then kept on training. After class he came up to me and ask my name and introduced me to his girlfriend. I guess he has respect for me now or something because I can take a hit. (remember this is a "tough guy") I have no animosities or anything. I just think he is to "ufc wanna be" and needs to know his own strength.
  12. here is a thought................. If you felt you were in "harm" and had to kick some butt. Why would you stick around and admire your work. That to me sounds like you had it under control the whole time.
  13. It is really good to speed up your foot work too!
  14. A week ago I was training with this guy (he is kinda a UFC wanna be) and he hit me really hard. The training was to come in with a round punch (you know the common street swing) and the other would do a strait in punch on the same side to intercept/counter the swing and hit first. We would try to give a light slap on the face (the swinger) so the counter punch had to be fast to stop that (and so it would feel at real speed). control was the key I thought!!!????? It is a week now and my chest still hurts. Went to the doctor last night and my rib is fractured. So here we go........................ 1) How should I train? 2) Should I make a deal out of It? 3) Should I Laugh it off with him and hope he learns to control? 4) Or your gonna get hit and get hurt at sometime. I guess this is a training question.?
  15. I guess you send a tape in for each rank. Somebody reviews them and lets you know how you are doing or if you pass "the test". Maybe if you had no schools at all where you live and you really wanted to be involved in MA in anyway...........great. I think the dvd set is best for review to help you train and learn your forms, etc as you are thinking about testing, want to get an edge, dont have private lessons, etc at your dojo. My dojo is based on Shaolin Kempo Karate but it is so much more than that. The dvds could help me but there is jui jitsu, muay thai, etc that the dvds do not cover. As a teen I went to Fred Villari's Studios of Self Defense and I really injoyed it. Its a good program. Even if it was a "McDojo". It is really all about your teacher in the dojo and not what the sign said at the door. That goes with all MA.
