  1. Hello Anzie! Good to see a norwegian here . I've trained shotokan karate in Stavanger Karateklubb. Started with that in '94. But I've been practicing kickboxing for almost 3 years now. 2 years in Grimstad, and now in Bergen, where all the european and world champs are you know. There'll be karate european championships in my hometown Stavanger in 2006, maybe I should train some kumite again... Thanks for your sharing of opinions guys. I agree that for pure self-defence, I didn't need to beat him up, but there's no question about if he really deserved that. If I was going for a fight, I would have gone for a fast and bloody knock-out, because there were so many people there, you have to end it quick, you don't know if there's a guy behind you, and suddenly you've got a few bottles on your head. But I always have the cops and assault charges in my backhead, that's the only major worry I have.
  2. I was in a nightclub the other night with a friend in Norway. And I was going through the masses on the dancfloor, then suddenly a fat guy who was about 190 cm tall and probably nearly 300 pounds pushed me hard. And I'm 172 cm and 152 pounds. I turned back and looked at him seriously, said to him "why did you push me, don't push me!. He had a guy behind him, and kept pushing me, and told me to get lost, then came towards me with his fat belly. Then other people came and stopped him for a few seconds, and my mate just laughed at them, then the bastards buddy came to him and started to argue. A few seconds later the fat guy came back at me and went towards me, and I pointed at him and said "don't push me, ok? Go away! Other wise you'll regret, I told him. He said that he's a viking and I am just a "pakkis" (It's similar to the word they use in US towards afro-american people, because there are many people from pakistan in Norway), what will I do, he said. Even though I'm a vietnamese of origin. "I eat people like you for breakfast he" he added. He just went towards me and my back came towards a wall, he then pointed a finger at me, and I grapped his finger, and repeated: "go away, or you'll regret it, I really mean it". I was calm, but furious inside. And I stood more or less sideways to protect my groin, and was ready to put a knee on his balls if he did something. Just waited him to pull of his first move. I actually hope that he tried to hit me, because I really need a big excuse before I really hit people. Then the security guys came and splitted us. And we were thrown out of the club. Now, what should I do in this situation, or what would you do? Should I just breake his fingers or given him a right cross to his chin? I feel kind of bad and guilty that I didn't hit him, still mad about that. Because I know a lot of vietnamese that would hit him so bad before he would say a word. So I was suprised that he didn't get lost when I warned him. It's only that I study in a city with not so many and foreigners and especially vietnamese. What would you have done?
  3. Hello guys! This is a pic of me doing a kick http://communities.msn.no/BruceLeeNorge/bilderfradanh.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=82
  4. Like Bruce Lee said: "Boards don't hit back!"
  5. AnonymousOne, you are so wrong, kata and sparring is totally different, you don't go down in horse stances whilst sparring, and you have a realationship with your opponent; you've got to relate to him/her; close the gap and so on and so on and so forth. _________________ Danh Shotokan Karate/Kickboxing and My own style Have no fear in front of your opponent [ This Message was edited by: Bruce__L on 2002-02-27 18:21 ]
  6. Just for correction, Bruce's striking speed in 3 feet wasn't 5 tenth of a second, but 5 hundredths of a second!
  7. As far as I can remember I've been kicked or kneed on my groin 3 times without any protection, and believe me, it helps a lot with a susp.
  8. Thanks for your answers. But when you are using cords, don't they get twisted and eventually get overtwisted and spin back?
  9. Hi Iron! The second clip is taken from a CGI-animation called Bruce Lee still alive(if I remember right) , made by Shannon Ma. But I haven't seen the first clip before, do you have more of those clips that aren't from the animation-video?
  10. Hmm..I'm using foam nunchakus using a chain by the way.
  11. Remember to stay calm guys, and don't get nervous, just do whatever you've been doing in the dojo, remember it's supposed to be fun too! Good luck!
  12. Silly question really, ofcourse Bruce would win. He was a streetfighter and a martial artist that seeked the most effecient way to end a fight. Don't get me wrong I'm a great fan of Jackie Chan and admire for what he can do on the bigscreen, and he would probably beat the heck out of everyone on this forum anytime. On the screen Jackie could beat up Bruce (even though that wasn't the case when they were on screen together), but on a real fight, I don't think the odds will be the same. Anyways I've seen people comparing Bruce with Van Damme, and honestly I don't know if I should laugh or cry...
  13. Yo guys! Just read that the digital Bruce Lee will be interacted with live-action actors and actresses, and a computer software will make an actors voice sound more like Bruce.
  14. Hello Henning. That's not a bad programme you've got there. It's good that you train weights as well, because many karate practitioners tend to have unbalanced muscles, you know, they do pushups and situps, but don't train their back, for instance. Maybe you could add one more weight-day into your schedule. You could for instance jog before a weight training, to save space of days.
  15. Can someone record those fights and convert to a format(avi, mpeg, mov) for pc?
