  1. Persoanlly id develop incredible grip strength if you wanted to apply some of these pressure points. I think it would make them far more effective. There are some "grip trainers" that can bend pipes roll up frying pans like newspapers and lots of other neat little stunts. If anyone wants to hear more about these look up captain of crush on some search engine do a little digging and youll read soem interesting facts. If a person could develop there grip strength so they could crush bones just by squeezing them. These Dim mak techniques would be a lot more effective.
  2. easier to keep clean yes easier to keep cool no I wouldnt want to wear a black gi while training outside.
  3. he was a strong guy but I think thats a little overdueing it, He was powerful, fast controlled and he one punched bulls. Stongest guy in the world. I think Ill leave that spot for powerlifters and strong man competitors.
  4. How come wing chun is so fast and powerful yet is still considered a soft art ? I havnt found much luck with anyone teaching wing chun in manitoba it seems interesting, similar to shotokan.
  5. you do practice breathing in your hard style dont you ? The translation of Ki,CHi,Qi is breath.
  6. Well which school or province town city or whatever produces the best fighters ? Is there a certain place that the best Thai Fighters come from ? Nak Muay (Thai Warrior) I think this is the highest ranking a Thai FIghter can get, where do most of these fighters come from ? Answering this might help me find various muay thai styles.
  7. Thats amazing 8.6 a second ? How long did he keep that up for if he could do that for a minute he would be doing 516 punches even at 20 seconds he could still do 172. Thats pretty damn good. However Id like to know how hard he hit with each punch, I think when they do those how fast can you punch or kick there should be a lb per square inch minimum, for each punch ot count. Whats the name of the guy who did that do you have a link to that, I think the guy at least deserves some recognition and have his picture posted for that record. Both arts are fast, wing chunners just throw differnt types of punches they are good along with shotokan. Both are known for there speed. I bet Wing chun and Karate have more similarities then they do differences at a high level.
  8. Pro's and cons of all of the above
  9. makiwara can be made for cheap a punchign bag can be expensive
  10. notice how the foot moves when the hips do when they punch
  11. this thread will probably get closed someone will say its style bashing
  12. meditation, i never meditate, i could always sleep or watch tv and still become really relaxed
  13. shotokan can be fast if the practisioner makes the technique fast, shotokan was meant to be fast, most are except for maybe tai chi.
  14. an hour or 2 depending on how fast you did it
