Yellow Belt

Yellow Belt (2/10)

  1. yes, i've trained in judo for about 10 years. I was a white belt the first 4 years, but that's because I couldn't remember the names of the throws or count in japanese well. But I could beat any black belt there with ease. So now I am a 5th degree black belt. My top sensei is a 10 degree, we have the top 4 in state.
  2. from what i've seen it uses everything, inculuding chokes and arm bars, and they for some reason love hitting the groin on about every technique
  3. Believe in god and he will save you, I don't fear death but I want to live longer, time is time and if it is my time I will follow the lord.
  4. theres to many styles in kung fu to anticipate whihc one he does, kicks and punches or grappling, maybe wrestling it depends. Say in your karate you must bow really low before each match then kick him in the face to start it off
  5. I take judo and I can throw people just as well without the gi. I did weight training on my forearms so I can grip really hard. I can hold onto their arm practically anytime I need to. Unless their greased like a pig =)
  6. Should you train at home on throws and things? I usually do but you could develop bad habits so is it good to train at home or does it matter on which style you are taking? Or technique.
  7. Just amagine it for the fellow you throw who as no MA training ..... ouch!!!! Did you add on the cement, that will hurt anyone regardless of falling skills.
  8. I have been doing judo for awhile now and am a black belt, well when I first started I was already pretty good because of some sense where I could tell where tey balance was and where they were going to be off balance ( a VERY VERY important part of judo, this takes people years to master ) so I would spar or rhondori against high ranked belts up to brown belts and beat them mostly. I could take orange green yellow and like I said most brown belts. It wasn't strength because I was 14 and they were around 18 but it was the key to judo to use the balance I could just give em a quick jerk and stick out my foot and down they went, so my story just says that somepeople are more gifted in an art than others but I'm not saying that you could never learn the balance trait but it may takes years to learn as oppose to me who basically already knew it. So it is the fighter mostly, but without my techniques and my style then I would have furthered my balance trait and learned how to throw people.
  9. Do you mean full contact sparring? Punches to the face and kicks?
  10. to practise them get a spotter ( who knows what their doing ) and have them help you, where you jump as if you were going to do it and they have you by the and they flip you over and back onto your feet, learned it in gymnastics ONLY WITH SOMEONE TRAINED
  11. This is just something I say that seems to help me... In martial arts you may have idols like in anything, such as Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Jet Li, Jackie Chan etc. etc. but you should not strive to become them you should try to become yourself and be the best you can be, falling short of them isn't a failure think of it as challenge to keep going, BUT NEVER TRY TO BE THEM. You may want to learn their style but don't try to imitate them.
