  1. I own and manage a few websites, including this one. I'm also a writer (I've written two books) and public speaker.
  2. Just in reading about this, it's been in development in one form or another since at least 2011: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/scarface-update-being-developed-by-238762 Regarding the content, TheWrap reported this more than a year ago: Here are Al Pacino's thoughts on it: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/al-pacino-talks-scarface-remake-783079
  3. This discussion was split off from the Which Kata Best Demonstrate the Core of your Practiced style thread, so the topic could live on its own, allowing people to talk about it at length without distracting from the other thread (and vice versa). Thanks, Patrick
  4. I have split the discussion of bunkai and whether or not it is about "learning how to move," onto its own thread, so that this thread can be focused on its original goal. If you'd like to follow the other discussion, please head over here: Bunkai = Knowing How to Move? Thanks, Patrick
  5. Hey all, Wednesday is Noah's birthday. Happy birthday. Hope you have an awesome day, Noah! Thank you for all of your outstanding contributions here and for being a great member of our team. Sincerely, Patrick
  6. Hello, Thank you for visiting KarateForums.com. Back in September of 2002, we launched the KarateForums.com Photo Album. As a community, we used it actively for a while, but then use of it slowed as people just started sharing pictures here in the forums. People started doing that because it made a lot of sense. It's more natural and puts the photos in front of more people. And so, the Photo Album died out. The last photo was posted on December 12, 2012, nearly 2 and a half years ago. In light of that, and the way that people are using the forums, we have decided to close the old KarateForums.com Photo Album. However, it has been archived so that it can remain online for the time being, for those who might want to take a look back. You can view it at this link: http://www.karateforums.com/albumarchive/album.html In the future, we will make it even easier to post photos here. For now, I encourage you to use a free image hosts like ImageShack and then embed the image here. If you have any questions or would like help doing so, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for time and understanding. Sincerely, Patrick
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72RqpItxd8M So... yeah, that looks pretty crazy. lol "I can hack you back in time to Nazi Germany, just like a time machine." From what I have read, it's a 30 minute short film that will be released on YouTube on May 28.
  8. Welcome aboard, maressa.
  9. Welcome to KF, Oshishinobu. Glad to have you. Patrick
  10. Thanks Bob. I'm glad that you enjoyed the article. Patrick
  11. Part three, the final party, is up now: http://www.managingcommunities.com/2015/04/02/law-enforcement-advice-on-how-to-deal-with-offline-and-suicide-threads-on-your-community/ We discuss suicide and offline threats and how being a LEO has made them a better moderator - and vice versa. Patrick
  12. Danielle is right that Walmart has a track record for excluding items for content. For example, they don't sell explicit music in stores. I remember this being the case when I was a kid and it is the case now. You can buy it the explicit version through their website. So it looks like Rousey's book is being treated similarly. Danielle's link mentions that they will allow you to buy online and using the Ship-to-Store feature, you can pick it up at the store in the dedicated pickup area (it's at the back of my local Walmart). Brian definitely isn't the first to suggest there is a bit of a double standard with other mediums, like movies and TV. I doubt Walmart did this to create any publicity for Rousey as they have no reason to do that. But Rousey (or, more likely, the publisher) wouldn't be harmed by playing this up a bit, that's for sure. It's not the same as a banned book or close, but they can get some buzz off it.
  13. Welcome aboard, Juan. Patrick
  14. Thanks for the update, wildbourgman! Patrick
  15. Yes, that is what it is, Shawn. Patrick
  16. Sorry about that, Spartacus Maximus. Appreciate your understanding. Haha, thanks Shawn. Patrick
  17. Many years ago, I was visiting my grandmother, step-grandfather and great grandmother in Florida. My mom, my brother, me and them went to a museum, I believe, and then were stopping to get something to eat. We stopped at a BBQ place. It was quiet there, and we sat down. The server came to our table. We were ready to order. Someone ordered chicken. They were out of chicken. OK... well, how about some turkey? They were out of turkey. My great grandmother, apparently quite hungry, asks them for a bowl of chili. They... were out of chili. At this point, my step-grandfather slammed his hand down on the table and we left. It's such a weird story. I'm not sure I would believe it if I didn't witness it. Patrick

  19. Alright, I have cleaned this up and things should be back to normal. Thanks again, Patrick
  20. Sorry to hear that he was sent down. Interesting story: http://www.si.com/mlb/2015/04/02/chicago-cubs-kris-bryant-minors-disappointed The Player's Association called his demotion "a sad day for baseball." http://www.si.com/mlb/2015/03/30/chicago-cubs-kris-bryant-minors-mlbpa You may be able to see him in Fenway at some point, due to interleague play. The Cubs actually played the Red Sox at Fenway last year. Unfortunately, they don't this year. Looking at the Cubs schedule, the closest you'll get is when the Cubs play the Mets at Shea in Queens, NY from June 30 - July 2.
  21. Thank you for sharing the picture here, Brian. Patrick
  22. Welcome to KF, Shotokannon. Patrick
  23. Hey all, Thank you for visiting KarateForums.com. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy April Fools' Day. As you may have noticed, all usernames across the entire site were given a little something extra at the start: Ninja_. This was particularly interesting for Ninja_ninjanurse. Ironically, it was Heidi (ninjanurse) who came up with the idea. Just a little harmless fun that we hope you got a kick out of, amongst the sea of other jokes you probably experienced today. Your username is actually untouched and remains as it was - the change was only made to how it was displayed on the site. I'll leave this change in place for a little longer, just to allow some other people to see it. Thanks, Patrick
  24. Given the power shown at the end of the clip, I think Noah is now in charge here. I'll hand my keys over at the end of the day. Patrick
