For me i just drink water, gatorade, and Sobe. I've heard that you do need to watch out though for energy drinks because they can cause you to pass-out if cosumed too much.

Most important muscles required for punches and kicks?
RJOTweet replied to YoungGrasshopper's topic in Health and Fitness
I agree with all the other posts on which muscles that work for you. Another grop you might want to add is the neck muscles, esp. the sternocleidiomastoid (sp) ( the main neck muscle for moving your head down). It would be handy in case you need to head-butt someone. All you need to do for exercises is rotating the head, turning it from side to side, etc. -
If weak wrists are a problem....I learned that to build strength in them is to use the weights that look like miniture dumbbells and move your wrist back and forward (no side to side).

Thanx White_Tiger! I did a few of those plyometrics for acouple of days like you posted and I can really see how they would help me. I have never heard of them before. I'll have to look more up. Thanx again.

When I rooled my dad's 4-wheeler 2 weeks ago. We bought it in June and haven't even made the first payment on it. At least it only got scratched. I had a lot of bruises though. But I did have a helment on!!!!! Or else I might have been knocked out or in the hospital.

Already turned 16 this month. But I have never liked the age 16 for some reason.

Where I go to kickboxing was flooded and I still want to stay in shape. I still do stretches and push-ups, but don't have any weihgts or punching bags at home. So what do you all think might be some really good exercising combinations for arm, stomach, leg, and overall toning.

In anatomy I learnded that the part of your body that's the "six pack" is just tendons and the only way to be able to show it is to loose the fat that covers it. So also that they can't be built like muscles can.

Thanx for all the help all! But what I meant by "leg extensions with weights" I meant the using the weight machine. Sitting on the bench, hooking your legs under a pad and lifting your legs. Sorry about the confusion.

When doing kicks or leg extensions with weights, my right knee tendsto hurt right below the kneecap. I figured it might be from the times I hyperexstended my knee on the trampoline though even now days just walking my knee wants to give out. This is mostly a problem if I try to do a left side thrust and left round house kicks. My instructor said that I should look into getting a knee brace. Any advice would be much appreciated. P.S. I don't know if this would factor into some of the problem, but my grandmother and her daughter(my aunt) have had knee surgeries.

This is kind if discouraging because in the town I live in has absolutely nothing to and since I really wanted to get in a martial arts and always have, this is the closest I could get to a martial arts class. But thank you for all your help. -

One of the certificates he himself made up has American International Fitness on it and the other A.I.M.A., but other than that I'll have to ask. -
Regaurding to my last post ( one about the belts). I had to pay $42 for it and I believe that was with the test included. But my master also made a certificate that said I was now in level two and another certificate that said I was certified to teach level one. I know this doesn't sound like this should be right, and a friend of mine looked into it and said that the certificates don't mean zilch. What do any of you say?
