Karate is great for individuals with a shorter/lighter body structure. This means you will need to focus on technique to develop strength rather than raw power. I believe individuals that are smaller in structure progress faster in their martial arts journey!
Hello, I've been practicing a style of martial arts that is derived from Shotokan for 9 years, currently a Shodan grade. Recently, the last month, i have begun training in Kyokushin Karate and was graded to 4th kyu
In our style, there are 4 levels of brown belt. 4th kyu to 1st kyu. We like to say a brown belt is a trainee black belt. Brown belt is fixing every bad habit you have picked up and ensuring you are proficient in the basics of Karate.
My name is Brock Thomsons, im a 19 yr old male, Australian with a passion and unrelenting dedication the the martial art. No matter the type (although i now focus in training okinawan karate and kobudo) i have had years experience in tai kwon do, goshin ryu and Rhee tai kwon do . I achieved my junior blacl belt in Rhee tai kwon do at the age of 11 and from there have progressed to karate and in turn kobudo training. I am a shodan black belt in Ken-sei shoto ryu and a 6th kyu in Toushi-Ryukyu Kobudo. I have a deep passion and interest in the history and philosophy behind karate and love and respect all to do with the ancient samurai warriours.
