  1. I heard about it in Budo Magazine and I was amazed about what it said about it. I bought a tape of some of its techniques and i was amazed with the effectiveness if them.
  2. ignorance on whose part? mine or theirs?
  3. This is what i think about weapon fighting and weapon training in general: Yes there is massive tradition in weapons, possibly more than the art itself, but there is one thing that actully makes a weapon a weapon; SELF DEFENSE. I try to choose a weapon that i can actully carry around, or at least find on the ground or nearby, like G95 said, That's why I like weapons like the whip chain, escrima, bo, and nunchaku. Yes, you're not going to find a regular nunchaku on the ground or put it in your pocket, very easily, but you CAN buy some that expand like a baton and put THAT in your pocket. I don't like knives because it's really easy to kill someone on accident with one, but that's just me.
  4. Why is it that when you tell someone that isn't in a MA that you're in martial arts(style doesn't matter), they always want you to 'prove' it? I always get challanged or something like that. Like someone i know will come up to me and pretend to hit me in hte face or something ilke that, thinking i would do some amazing move on them. Why is it that when someone says that they can draw good or somehting, noone says that they can't or say that they can draw better than him. Do you get what i'm saying?
  5. Think about this: If you were into a scenario where a fight was inevitable, it would be a lot easier to find some sort of stick (possibly like an escrima, or in your case, BO) than to find a perfectly sharpened samurai sword. Obviously, noone really carries a sword or a bo in their back pocket, at least not where i come from.
  6. I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I want to know. At first I thought that you didn't always have to be drunk to do it, atleast not to learn it. But I heard that you always have to be drunk to practice and use it. So what's the deal?
  7. thanks guys. that helped me out a lot, but remember, i'm still a white belt in karate and i'm going to start chinese boxing next week. is that still wise?
  8. Right now I'm in karate and i'm considering joining a friend in Chinese Boxing. Should i? would this present a conflict?
