I wouldnt necesarily create my Own style. However I feel that the taekwondo I know I would mix some of my other knowledge into to make it more effective for self defense. I don't need to call it Wayne Kwan do though. My personal style already includes muay Thai, boxing, trapping, as well as dirty fighting not usually taught in taekwondo. Am I creating my own art? Royce Gracie competed in an era when many martial artist were blind to grappling concepts. Now that all mma fighters have a knowledge of ground fighting the gi would basically become a handle for an opponent. The grips provided would help your oponnent strike, submit, sweep, and controll you.

I have a lot of respect for the direction Dan and Paul have taken the art. I feel they are doing exactly as Bruce would have by continuing to evolve. Dan is his own Martial artist not just a carbon copy like many of the china town students. Jkd needs to be tailored to the individual as those students did not posess the same athleticism as Lee. I was reading the Jkd discussion revolving around the "beef" with Lee and Some his champion students and was amazed to find so much info. I can tell this is a meeting place of many great MAist.

He seems pretty legit if he. Has earned his Brown belt under Marcelo Garcia. He is one of the top Jiu-jitsu competitors in the world. He is supposed to be a great teacher as well.

I currently train at American Top Team on coconut creek. I love it there and am able to train with a lot of high level martial artists and pro fighters. Where is Mr. Kirby located?

Hello, I am a martial arts instructor in south Florida. I have experience in a variety of styles. My expertise is in Korean martial arts, but I have trained in kempo, kyokushin, and have been doin bjj for about two years. I am a huge Bruce fan and utilize a lot of jkd concepts.
