  1. Jamming a technique is very effective in a fight. Using the traingle shape to defend - like crazy monkey boxing. Cut down the attacker - jam his attacks then attack the attack with your own strikes.
  2. Spin crescent kick is better although not going to have a great % of scoring/striking with it. I personally just use crescent kicks for dynamic type stretching as other kicks are much more effectice. Round kick, side kick.
  3. Some nice drills shared thanks!
  4. pure fitness footwork element. If you combine the footwork with throwing the shots as in fight then you'll be working on sitting down on your shots in between moving. Which is usefull when you face a fighter and need to counter punch with power to gain respect and prevent the attacker from walking through your shots.
  5. In points fighing you see most fighters bounce. It what you call "warm engine" and gives you the ability to react faster.
  6. To relax then mind must be empty of focus on nothing to do this you need to be unconciously throw techniques which needs lots of reps. Experience as in you've sparred lots of times and have the belief in your ability to relax.
  7. If you just striking then the benefit a martial artist has is increased range due to the legs being allowed. Study Macheda's fight style and range of movement to beat the boxer. However depends on what type of boxer - boxer or fighter?
  8. I remember seeing Joe Lewis videos covering alot of feint tactics - you could search on youtube.
  9. Momentum as in continued attack? Pressure as in keeping up the attack. Constant forward pressure wins fights for sure.
  10. Teaching Kimbo is some godo cred - would he want to go bare knuckle with him though?
  11. Take out the man and not the weapon. I would use this strategy - focusing on the wrist second but attacking the attacker first to break the grip.
  12. I suppose if someone was running towards you with serious intent and out of range - you would strike them first - to pre-empt which is ok.
  13. Always awkward - countering is a good strategy and just working on skills rather than trying to win.
  14. Usually caused by telegraphing the technique or not recoiling. Try not to be too reptitive and easily read by your opponent.
  15. You can never have be too serious when sparring. I wonder if trying too hard is maybe whan the person meant. You have to empty your mind and focu on nothing so you can just react.
  16. Using a lighter bag and get the bag swinging works your fully body movement. You can shadow your head movement and make a smaller mini bag to have swinging back and forth so Pauli Malinagi using one once.
  17. Its often - increasing strength and flexibility and plenty of reps.
  18. Yep a spin kick with attack works well with a lead hand jab as a feint. Or as a counter as people have suggested when your attacker moves forwards.
  19. Its must be a numbers thing - cool this debue's in London 2012!
  20. The low thai kick is horrible if your not used to the conditioning - my first class I had dead legs for a week and could hardly walk.
  21. I have just put out a new program with Lance Lewis you can find out more here. http://martialartstraining.tv/boxing-for-the-street-boxing/
  22. Didn't he fight a European champion at some point?
  23. There are skills in boxing which are illgeal but it doesn't stop someone from trying to use them in a bout. Using his head for example or elbow in a clinch.
  24. Music can be great, it can also be annoying when you have loud music and the teachers is trying to talk over it.
  25. He GOOD, fast, great technique - he's playing with alot of kids!
